Rogers High 28, Rogers Heritage 6

ROGERS — Rogers High kept its postseason hopes alive with a convincing 28-6 victory over Rogers Heritage Friday night. The Mounties (1-4) are 1-1 in the 7A-West with back-to-back trips coming up to Fort Smith Southside and Fort Smith Northside.

Rogers coach Shawn Flannigan said advancing to the postseason for the third time in the last four seasons would mean the Mounties would have to beat the War Eagles. And the Mounties were sharp in doing it.

Rogers rushed for 325 yards as the Mounties ran 59 plays, 54 times keeping the ball on the ground. The Mounties converted 5 of 12 … Continue Reading ››

Shiloh junior LB Broc Berus was injured late in the game and taken to a local hospital. He was released later Friday night.

Fayetteville 67, FS Southside 21 — Rapid Report

Believe it or not, this one had plenty of defense... at least for a while.

Fayetteville forced FS Southside to punt on six of its first seven possessions and dominated the Rebels' strong run game the entire first half to set the tone. But the offenses took over after intermission and FS Southside simply couldn't keep up.

The Purple'Dogs (5-0, 2-0 7A-West) racked up 613 total yards, 333 coming on the ground, with both Luke Rapert and Javontae Smith going for over 100 yards each. Taylor Powell was his usual steady self, completing 25 of 35 for 255 yards and 5 TDs … Continue Reading ››

Har-Ber routs Springdale, stays unbeaten in 7A-West play

SPRINGDALE — It would have been difficult for Fuller Chandler to script a better return to Bulldog Stadium.

The Springdale Har-Ber senior quarterback accounted for 228 total yards and three touchdowns as the Wildcats routed Springdale High 48-10 in Chandler’s return to the school where he started for two seasons.

Chandler and the rest of the Har-Ber starters built a 41-3 lead at halftime and spent the second half on the sideline as the Wildcats (4-1, 2-0 7A-West) rolled to their fourth straight win this season and ninth straight in the series.

“I’ve played here so many times … Continue Reading ››
