PROVIDENCE ACADEMY BASKETBALL ON THE RISE



Austin and Lisa Bivens can trace their basketball roots back to the same tree.

The husband and wife duo, now the boys and girls basketball coaches at Rogers-based Providence Academy, have legendary Guy-Perkins coach John Hutchcraft as their common denominator. There are not many better mentors in the state than Hutchcraft, whose team garners a ton of ink in the Arkansas state high school sports record book.

High School Swimming Notebook

A month long break from competition for local high school swimmers will come to an end today as teams take part in the John Brown Swim and Dive Invitational in Siloam Springs and at the Fayetteville Invitational Saturday at the Jones Center in Springdale.

Springdale Har-Ber is off to a solid start as the Wildcats have two individuals and two relay teams with state qualifying times.
