Junior college power forward Jameel McKay believes he’ll be able to show off his versatility once he leaves the Juco ranks.
McKay, 6-8 1/2, 198, of Indian Hills (Iowa) Community College reports scholarship offers from Arkansas, Memphis, Missouri, Iowa State and Wichita State. He said he’s interested in the Hogs because of coach Mike Anderson’s style of play along with having family in Little Rock.
He’s averaging 14.5 points, 7.4 rebounds while shooting 62 percent from the field during his freshman season.
“The teams play me tougher now in junior college,” McKay, a 2013 prospect, said. “I’m a four (power forward), but on the next level I can be a three (small forward)/four. Take most of the bigs off the dribble. Now I’m still working on my three-point shot. I figure my next year, I’ll take a lot more threes than this year. I just want to get to the point where I’m comfortable coming down and pulling up.”
McKay is unsure if he”ll make any unofficial visits in the spring or summer, but Arkansas could be aided with family living in Little Rock .
“I might take one or two because of having family in Arkansas,” McKay said. “I may take one or two.”
Getting the job done on the court is McKay’s highest priority in his next school.
“I want to win,” he said. “I want to be able to play my type of game and contribute to the winning.”

I sure would like to add another someone who could come in this fall. If all Ross needed was an ACT score coming out of High School, then he should be available this fall. Of course, getting Powell back will mean a lot.
We definitely need his size and rebounding. McKay also looks like a consistent scorer inside and on the perimeter, something we also need. Ross would be nice too, yet there’s not been much info saying that we’re still recruiting him (I hope we are). I do know that Ross recently did well in a national prep tournament (made the all tourney team):

No doubt we need more size on the team.
Yeah, C’mon big guy. We need you last November. It is getting downright depressing to see us getting hammered on the glass on both ends of the court game after game.
Surely, the Razorbacks are still on Aaron Ross. He’s 6’8″ and the stats linked above by Platinum in the national prep tournament are very impressive.
He said that most importantly he “wants to win.” Hope he hasn’t watched any of the nationally televised games this year.
I’d love to have him and Ross join us next fall, though.

A little more video and a article about him going to a prep school, that didn’t work out.
