Good news with some more beef on this kid he will be Huge for the Hogs! I really wanted Vin from the start and I was hoping that the coaches didn’t over look him he plays with a chip on his shoulder and I’m glad he is a Hog WPS! Now on to Diamond,DGB & Neal

  5. oldhog oldhog says:

One thing you can count on from watching his video – when he gets his hands on you, you are going down! WPS
I think this kid is going to be gold in Red & White.

  6. snowman294 snowman294 says:

Great pickup for the hogs. Prob not an instant impact but when he adds a little bulk, with those instincts, and tenacity…look out!

  7. marcm marcm says:

Good way to start the day, welcome to the family VIN!!

  8. nostrahogus nostrahogus says:

He’s aggressive and he has a nose for the ball.

Great pick up! He reminds me of Tony Bua.
This is going to get crazy the last few days .

  9. jb jb says:

Best video I have seen – not the player, the video. So he must be a fellow who knows what is important. He presents himself well, which speaks well for him. He knows what is important and shows it to you. He seems raw, states he has dramatically improved this year (scouting stars often require two or three years of excellence), which means he will probably really improve in our system. All of which just means I am really excited about this guy, who I don’t think we were involved with until Coach Paul Petrino got here. Looks like a good fit for all.

  10. nchog nchog says:

Scout upgraded him to a 3 star, and here is a link about his commitment

With the rumors floating around about Gardner possibly going to OU, what are you guys hearing on Javon Williams. ESPN’s SEC blog has a quip about him being down to us and UCLA

  19. andrew Andrew says:

So, just out of curiosity… I don’t know how common of a name d’onofrio is, but his uncle is named mark d’onofrio, and his name is vin, is he by chance related to Vincent d’onofrio?

  20. homerhog homerhog says:

A needed committment. Those Jersey boys are tough!
Hmmmm…..Scout one day has D. Wilson as a committment and the very next day has him still on the market. ?????

  26. shaft shaft says:

Looking for a safety? Great instincts, great size, really good speed, an absolutely ferocious hitter. Vin fits the bill. Though he’s apparently being recruited as a linebacker.

  27. marcm marcm says:

Nevermind, found it, anyone having a problem with this page loading slow? I am, but everything else loads normal. I am on my phone.

  28. marcm marcm says:

GH, thanks, for some reason it’s taking 4 to 5 mins everytime I refresh this page only. Weird.

  29. razorback roger razorback roger says:

BY THE WAY…. These rating sites are full of it. Case in point… Rivals has our man Vinnie as a TWO STAR. I mean he is a Parade All American. They dont know beans ….are they being paid off to be stupid?

  30. Platinúm Jesús Platinúm Jesús says:

I’m having the same issue marcm

  31. Platinúm Jesús Platinúm Jesús says:

They’ll probably bump him up, we’ve had quite a few commits that were 2 stars or that didn’t have any stars and they’re now at 3 stars. Crazy process for most of the recruiting sites…

  32. Platinúm Jesús Platinúm Jesús says:

I don’t know if he’s related to d’onofrio or not, but I can’t get thought of My Cousin Vinny out of my head now…

  33. georgiahog georgiahog says:

    Platinúm Jesús:

I think with all this interest growing on the hogs, that Richard needs a server upgrade or we need to all back it down and quit being so interested …. nah! Richard how about it?

Roger, I take it you live in the Tampa/St Pete area. Gonna be in that area for spring break. Any suggestions on family-friendly restaurants in St Pete?
    ————————-
Skyline Chili is a great restaurant. Their signature is a chili topped spaghetti. They’ve got a big terrace overlooking the beach that makes for a great experience.

  38. marcm marcm says:

Maybe it’s fix, it’s fast again!!! Espn has us with 21 commits, with Humes,( I’m not counting) still showing as a commit and vin committing today and thomas going to Vandy, does that make it 20 Commits? And I don’t knw what to think about wr D Wilson.

  39. marcm marcm says:

Meant espn has us at 22 counting Humes, I’m thinking 21 commits.

  40. razorback roger razorback roger says:

Vantagehog, now I gotta agree with you there about Skyline Chili. That is some good eatin. Oh man, now I am hungry all over again !

  41. dirthawg dirthawg says:

I recommend Jackson’s or maggianos in tampa…sand bar on AMI is awesome for dining on the beach!

  42. georgiahog georgiahog says:

Man Richard is fast … this site is running super fast now!

  43. spaz cauleyhog says:

i had family live in cincy and they showed me dkyline. i thought skyline chili was a yankee thing. i love it tho

  44. VantageHog VantageHog says:

Yeah, it’s so weird that there’s one in St. Pete. Totally random. I want some Skyline Chili so bad right now. And to go back to the Salvador Dali museum. And to take a dip in the ocean. St. Pete is pretty awesome.

  45. spaz cauleyhog says:

dang. skyline chili, salvador dali museum, dip in the ocean. heck add a GrIN to the face some girls
    and count me in! :)

  46. razorback roger razorback roger says:

It appears that Christ Humes (6′ 1″ & a 4.3 9 40) is still comming to Arkansas per his latest twitter. He met with Coach Allen and twitted: ” Jus visited with coach allen. great guy. can’t wait to work with him..” If so, that is ok with me.
(yeah they have my permission LOL )

  47. alabamahog alabamahog says:

Chili? In Florida? Man, when I go to Florida, I want fresh seafood! (with a gator tail appetizer) :-)

  48. spaz cauleyhog says:

    alabama hog …your right

  49. spaz cauleyhog says:

ok….roger are you sure he is 6′ 1″? both scout and 247 sports have him listed as 5′ 11″

  50. spaz cauleyhog says:

espn has him at 6′ 0″

  51. marcm marcm says:

Humes is 6″1 after he stretches!! Lol

  52. dirthawg dirthawg says:

if any of ya’ll make it over to cocoa-port canaveral in your travels, you gotta hit up rusty’s seafood…right on the water. I highly recommend the yellow fin tuna (rare of coarse) and bacon wrapped scallops!…bamahog if you only make it down as far as panama city, you gotta hit up mikes diner…raw oyster and several other ways they prepare the oysters are off the hook…Ask for Michelle…she helped me feed my neices softball team and their parents for under 12 worlds series last summer

  53. spaz cauleyhog says:

prolly the only thing thats not so great about living in little rock. the sea foods not the best.

  54. dirthawg dirthawg says:

yea, but you actually have seasons…I think the leaves finally change color like around end of november-december…you blink you just might miss it

  55. ralot ralot says:

  56. GonzoHog GonzoHog says:

Great pickup for the Hogs. Welcome to Hog Nation Vin!…WPS!!!

  57. ralot ralot says:

  58. hogforlife22 hogforlife22 says:

Been waiting for this for a long time!

  59. dakotahog dakotahog says:

That’s good ralot. The best thing is he’s going to become a member of our “Family.” Roger, you need to get Vinny over to get some of that chili-spagetti because if he’s half as hungry as he is thirsy in that video, then we’re going to be getting us the real deal.

  60. justahog justahog says:

before you go patting BP on the back for the 41/2 hour visit just remember Italian food. the family would have had to kick me out too….just funning….i love this young man also, and I wonder how our coaches keep finding these guys so late in the process, Last year I though the outdone themselves with Kane and no again…. wps go bobby go

  61. mpeezyhawg mpeezyhawg says:

That’s it…. I will never say Bobby P again.. From now on in my head and in my heart he will ALWAYS be “Tha Hawgfather”!!!

  62. Bigfoot bigfoot says:

    Richard, you’re the best!!

  63. News Carver News Carver says:

Vin seemed really excited about the Hogs from the beginning, so I ‘m happy for him. I think he made a good choice and will have the best facilities and the best coaches to help him be the best he can be.

He looks to have pretty good speed and tenacity. You need to be a little bit excitable or a little mean to play LB. This guy with 15-20 more lbs on him should be a wrecking ball.

  64. bsee1991 bsee1991 says:

I love this kid! Watched his video. What a motor. Listened to him on Shawn and Wally. Really WANTS to be a hog. This kid will be a play maker here. Just wait and see!!

  65. littlerockhog littlerockhog says:

I think with his speed and measurable he would be a great safety!!

  66. marcm marcm says:

    another TONY BUA!!

  67. hogen-dazs hogen-dazs says:

Wow…I kinda missed the video of his decision. Just watched it. Holy Crap…this kid you can tell is going to be so devoted. I’m on board with this kid….great pickup. Whenever you get a kid that knows where his strength comes from in his family and coaches…and absolutely WANTS to be a HOG…gotta love this guy.

    WPS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  68. ralot ralot says:

The HawgFather says, “when Vinnie gets here, somebody is gettin’ WACKED! There shall be peace in this ‘family’ or someone has gotta pay! WPS and ciao baby.

OR, if you are just a regular guy like me, just make it to the Flora-Bama and order 3 dozen oysters (rare of course) and tell them to keep the drinks comin’!! Ask for Bruiser.

Try to make it for the “Mullet Toss Day”. Fun will be had by all, I don’t care who you are!!

  71. ralot ralot says:

So I amuse you? Funny like a clown? SORRY guys since VA3 (tha hammer) signed, i’ve been channeling Joe Pesci. But i think the HawgFather would approve. Mess with us and you’ll be ‘sleepin with the piggies’. I am now painting a white hog (helmet logo) on my fedora.

  72. ralot ralot says:

Hey RR next time you are at Flora-Bama just cross the street and check out the fishing-vessel “Miss Holly” , he’ll put you on the fish. All you have to do is hang on and Drink.

  73. razorrandy RazorRandy says:

Last time I fished out of the general area was out of Orange Beach. Caught a 92 lb Amberjack. Was so hungover/reloading it dam near pulled me overboard.

It got it’s revenge when we got back to dock and people wanted pictures. In my haze, I hoisted it up on my shoulder (for the pic) and the impact sent about 3 lbs of fish crap straight down my back. That sucked, it was one of my favorite shirts at the time.

  74. ralot ralot says:

    Now that’s fishin’. LOL
