Whew, Cooksey is a big ole boy. He seems to lumber around the field.
Danenhauer is a bit smaller but more active and more mobile.
definitely lumbers.. would like to see cooksey dominate at the point of contact considering his size but he seems to get pushed back by a guy half his size.
danenhauer seems to run block far better than pass pro, but i’m sure his big bro is working on that and his agility.
Quinta looking impressive: http://hamptonroads.com/2010/09/cant-catch-tiger-tail
Cooksey looked like he was playing in slow motion. too slow to leverage his weight in the SEC
Guys, who else is as pissed off at Ray Dominguez as I am?
Not only is he still racking up penalties in his senior year, but he also whiffed on his assignment, allowing Ryan Mallett to be sacked, something that should NOT happen against Tenn Tech.
Can anyone please tell me why Broderick Green continues to get the majority of the snaps at running back? I am totally dumbfounded! His yard per carry average is anemic at best! I just don’t get CBP’s love fest for B. green when he has 3 MORE talented backs on the team! I know that Petrino loves the big back, but it’s time to put personal preference aside and do whats best for the team……ie Dennis johnson, Knile Davis, Ronnie Wingo!
Ray Dominguez is terrible. He has to hold the all time SEC record for most false starts.
Dominguez played a large part in our loss to Georgia last year. False starts and holding penalties galore at critical times.
Ethan, Johnson is our RB workhorse. Petrino is just keeping him safe and healthy.
petrino got mad at DJ for carrying the ball out with one hand, Wingo totally whiffed on a LB which resulted in basically a sack and lucky it wasn’t a bama LB.
Broderick has proven to be solid at pass pro so he’ll continue to receive increased snaps..bobby petrino does not like his QBs to get hit. I also think this is why knile got the start.
I think when Danenhauer gets in the weight room and develops his upper body strength he’ll be a good player for the Hogs. This is the only place I know of where a headline “Young is a Hog” is a compliment.
PK is the winner. If you can’t block you can start. If you carry the ball in one hand you sit on the bench. CBP wants to average 4+ yards a carry. If he can do that with a big back and committee and wear the other teams defense donw in the process then he sees it as a win.
PK is right that Petrino was mad at Johnson for carrying the ball with one hand. but Johnson got the message, now its time to give him many more carries.
Someone correct me if im wrong, but the first sack was Ray Dominguez and perhaps a RB (Wingo?s) fault, whereas the second sack was just a situation where we didnt have the proper pass coverage selected, and Ray Dominguez actually got his guy that time, but another guy ran around to his left to sack Mallett.
Good news — well for us anyway. NCAA benches Georgia’s A.J. Green http://sports.espn.go.com/ncf/news/story?id=5547721
That is good news since he ate our lunch last year. Without his points we would have won the game.
Some interesting musings, be sure to scroll down to the Ole Miss story.

Ole Miserable-ssippi —- I have long respected Houston Nutt for getting as much out of his talent as anyone in the game. Not so much anymore. Ole Miss laid a gigantic egg opening day, blowing a 31-10 halftime lead in losing to Jacksonville State 49-48. Many want to blame the distraction of the Jeremiah Masoli fiasco, but Masoli doesn’t play defense. Then again, apparently no one else in the Ole Miss locker room does either. Ole Miss was minus-3 turnovers on the day and it cost them

What I found most Ironic was the fact the Jacksonville St. is coached by Jack Crowe ! LOL LOL
Houston, you have a problem !
Y’all may have already seen this. I hadn’t. I got the link from Matt Jones’ tweet column. Pretty cool.

Thanks for posting this Randy. I would have put Loyola Marymount with Hank Gathers and Bo Kimball on the list.
How many batteries did it take to shock Ole Miss on Saturday ?

Its long been Nutt’s M.O. to lose a game he shouldn’t lose. It’s never been to this lowlyof a team before. There’s no excuse for losing to an FCS school. Unfortunately, he also wins a game he shouldn’t win. This year, I predicted that game to be LSU, but I’d love for it to be Alabama. I just hope it’s not us. Regardless of how bad Ole Miss does this year if we don’t take them seriously they could beat us. Nutt will have them sky high for that game.
I agree MRP.
I think we all need to realize that almost every team we play should be better than last year. If we start gettin cocky and overlook an opponent we will be replacing Nutt in the news.
We need to go to work and take care of business. Every week !
for all of Arkansas horrible losses under the Nutter, he says that this game was his worse loss. it would be great for Ole Miss to knock off Alabama or another SEC western opponent so that it will make our trip to atlanta just a little bit easier.
Well, of course this was his worst loss. At Arkansas he never lost to a non-BCS team (except UNLV in the Las Vegas Bowl). Now, not only has he lost to a non-BCS school, he’s lost to a non-FBS school which obviously is worst.
