YES!!! Way to go BJ! Welcome to the Hogs! Very excited about this!
yesssssssssssssss ! Welcome home BJ !
What a class our coaches are putting together. Glad to see we are continuing to sign high ranking players that can go from end to end. I think we just need a big or two to mix it up underneath the basket. Welcome to the hog family!
Coach i had a feeling he would, BJ welcome to the Hog Nation WPS!!!!!!!!!!
i’m going to get out of my wheelchair a and dance.
Here is a story from scout or hog illustrated on Young

How many scholarships will that leave for the 2011 basketball team? I dont see Ky Madden being a hog now. Would like to see a big center to commit.
YES!!!! I am very glad to see him commit! He’s going to be great for us. I do have to agree w/ you hogman, I’m not sure about Madden now. I thought we’d get one of these guys, but not both.

Arkansas has good shot at Madden. The Hogs would take him in a heart beat.
Good Job Pel, and welcome to the hog nation B. J. When Ky comes aboard, we are going to be hard to handle. Come on aboard Ky and enjoy the hogs of the future. You guys make us all proud!!!!!
Richard is there any word of any kind on Brock Hamon? Did he enjoy the game and how is the visit going? Sure am anxious to hear how he is feeling toward the hogs.
Some of you guys are forgetting that Young is a shooting guard while Madden is a point guard.
Young said in a interview that he had rather play the two spot.
I thought Young was a combo guard but he still can play the point if Ky doesn’t sign. I can see great things happening snd I think Pelphrey and Co. are building something big……as Daddy Frank would say……. We’re talkin’ ’bout the future.
Rivals lists him as the #4 point guard in the country. I hope he takes care of his grades because he could be a real difference maker. Welcime aboard BJ and WPS!!!!!!!!!!!

Not counting Madden there are three more that have arkansas listed High on their list.
Cedrick McAfee ****
Antawn Space ****
Devonta Abron ***
By my count there is only 1 spot left open and I expect it to go very fast. Come on Madden jump on board.
wow. hopefully he stays committed, academically eligible, and out of trouble.

The eternal Optimist.
but, anyways would rather have young than madden
It would be nice if all these guys signed early and got it over with.
This is GREAT news hoped he would commit now if we McAfee or Thomas that would be real nice would also love to have madden if possible. I hope that we hear some good news on Haman as well.
On another note the E.Carolina game came down to last play and the SMU kicker just kicked a 61 yrd field goal that is nice kick
Yeah Im very excited about Mr. Young and the 2011 class Pelfrey needs to atleast go to NIT to keep his Job… I hope CJP gets it done! GO HOGS!!!

I would prefer to get the kind of players we are getting, the high four stars, rather than the one-and-done kind of folks Kentucky is getting. The high fours will likely go to the NBA, yes, but they’ll spend a few years working within the team concept and building your program rather than being all about their self.
Way to go Coach Pelphrey and staff. If we land McAfee, Madden or Space we’re looking at the Final Four in three years.
Welcome aboard Mr. Young. Great to have you!
Peyton,
Who should get the credit for B.J.’s commitment? It certainly wouldn’t be Failphrey would it?
What a great weekend this is turning out to be!
Again, our eternal optimist poster has nothing but negative even on a very nice pickup and commit. He has to rain on the parade, that is all he is about. Go Pel! Go Hogs!
Does anyone know who the next imminent commitment is that Rivals is referring to?
I tried looking that up Randy, but I suppose someone with a Rivals account would have to let us know something. Anyone?
Great News!!!!!!!! This is a class we expect at Arkansas
Thanks Gonz.
RazorRandy
if you’re talking basketball, Richard said on the pig trail Antwan Space looked good and we may here something soon.
I don’t know if it is imminent, but it says that Antwan Space could be the next commit. He plans on making a decision later this week!
Ky Madden, call coach and commit!!
Thanks guys.
Thanks guys.
I think they are talking about Space. Rivals lists him as the #14 PF and Scout has him as the #17 SF.

Here is a article on BJ Young

I don’t get it. Scout is still showing Cedrick McAfee as “high” interest in Arkansas, While listing everyone else as “medium”.
Rivals has him listing Memphis as “High” interest, while Arkansas and a few others are listed as “low”. Very confusing.
Although I have been critical of Pelphrey the last 2 yrs., I must say this is a great get for the Hog hoops program. But I must also question who is going to play inside for us. The season after next (2011-12) when Young, Ross & Mickelson show up, Delvon Johnson will be gone for sure, Powell might go pro, and Sanchez hasn’t stayed healthy since the 10th grade. G. Bryant, Waithe & Mickelson have the height, but not the bulk to play inside regularly. If Pelphrey does not get some size inside to go along with the nice guards we have, we will get killed on the glass and teams will be shooting 50% on us every night. Which means more disappointing seasons. By my count, we have 1 schollie left for the 2011 class. This must go to someone who can provide rebounding and interior defense. The forwards being mentioned as potential Hogs include A. Space, D. Abron, W. Bail and some others but all are around the 200 lb. area, not the 230 lb. plus we need. As much as I would love Ky Madden, McAfee or A. Thomas we MUST get some bigs.
I think Pelphrey’s chances of landing a quality big man just got better.
Who wouldn’t want to be a part of this class?
Maybe Pel can barrow some football players, BP is recruiting some very good 2 sport athletes. With the depth he is developing he could redshirt someone and loan them to the b-ball team.
Good thought RKV; Petrino likes big linemen who also played basketball and with that will come size and toughness.
Jeff, How about Oden to play Center for Pelphrey ? Size matters
Does anyone know where our APR stands now ?
He’s playing for the Sonics now isn’t he?
What are the chances of Madden coming even if Space commits? Which I hope is the case. We could call them the fab five!!!
