yea ole miss really thought they were getting something when they got Houston Nutt. From the looks of things they will be singing a different tune when this season is over. Everyone thought that Missolli would make a difference,but ask a hog fan and we will tell you that Nutt cannot coach a Quarterback. Ed Orgeron recruits are just about gone so they will see the real Houston Nutt now.

I was way off on all my predictions. Mallett was good tonight and I was really impressed with Anthony Leon and Darius Winston.
Oh, and I meant to compliment Dennis Johnson, Knile Davis, Joe Adams, and the always good DJ Williams.
I predicted 48-3.

I figured most of you would be pulling for ole miss. Doesn’t this loss make the SEC look bad? Don’t you guys worry about how the SEC looks. I for one am ecstatic that ole miss lost and I was hoping ASU was gonna pull the upset against aubarn. Oh well, 1 out of 2 ain’t bad.
Hopefully the prize is a Brock Haman committment

Normally I pull for all the SEC teams; however, Nutter losing did bring a smile to my face. Miss State rolled Memphis.

Will say that the defense is still not ready. If Willy can’t get defense up so some form of “swagger” that will stop SEC teams, and, stop penalties, we may as well forget that BIG season this year.

I don’t care if the SEC looks bad. I just care about Arkansas winning. If they keep winning everything takes care of itself.
On the flip side…there might be some games out there I will root for SEC teams. Like I’m going to root for Bama against Penn St. mostly because I want them to be undefeated when we play them. It will make our win look more impressive and our loss understandable. Either way helps us down the road.
As for some of the others…well I hope Ole Miss and Auburn lose every freakin’ game remaining.
I’m kinda hopin’ for Georgia and LSU to be undefeated when we play them as well for the same reason as the Bama reason.
As for the game I was impressed with Leon and Askew on D. Askew was a freakin’ load out there and makes me think we really are stacked at DT right now. On the O side I really thought D. Johnson ran very hard. He’s like a bowling ball. I thought Mallett was excellent at grinding out series at times utilizing the short game very well.
I was not impressed with Isaac Madison who got beat several times by these nobody’s. He didn’t get much help from Thomas either who seemed out of position several times. We’ve got to get these guys to tighten up the screws or SEC teams will bury them.
On the O side I’m still not a believer in Brod Green. To me he seems clumsy and slow and for somebody so big he doesn’t take a hit well. D. Johnson is twice as tough to bring down and you get twice as fast with him as well. I like the thought of rotating Johnson, Davis and Wingo all game and let Johnson takeover the short yardage situations from Green.
O-Line….get your heads out your bums and do a better job with protection or Mallett will end up hurt this year.
D-Curtis. If you want to freakin’ play anymore you better start handling the gift wrapped TD’s givin to ya!!
And finally. Joe Adams!! You’re a freakin’ stud!!
Man if tonight was any indication…moving Leon to LB was the best decision Willy will EVER make. Until proven otherwise I think we will be fine a D-line and LB and I think Crimm, Broadway and Winston will be fine.
I’m most worried about Madison and Thomas right now. Especially when they are on the same side of the field.

I thought the running game did well tonight. Especially on the stat line, the running backs all had nice YPC.
ESPN3 was jumpy for me so I might have missed it, but I didnt notice alot of the “Shot” formation. Did we run much of it?
I noticed Bennett was playing alot of snaps as a 1st team corner. I wasnt expecting that.

The national play by play guys make me sick. I was watching the LSU – UNC game and I heard an announcer say, “the longhorns roll over Rice 34-17.
Since when is 34-17 rolling over anyone – especially against Rice? Is that the same Rice that went 2-10 last year and was beaten by Vanderbilt (also 2-10) 36-17?

my thoughts after just watching the game. of course all these thoughts must be prefaced …”although against tenn tech”
1. O-Line looked embarrassing at times, and Ray Dominguez especially
2. 2nd string offense was disappointing and underachieved
3. The idea of moving Anthony Leon to linebacker is looking really brilliant at this point
4. I don’t know what got into Alex Tejada, but he was extremely impressive at kickoff duty
5. Dennis Johnson needs more carries, as he was the most impressive, despite the one fumble, he broke the most tackles. Knile Davis got some good yardage, but did not really have to break tackles to do it.
