Defensive/offensive lineman Austin Beck knows he wants to play his college football at Arkansas but he decided he would visit Fayetteville over the weekend for another look.
“I wanted to get a feel for the town and see the facilities again.” Beck said.
Beck, 6-8, 300, 5.3 of Nowata, Okla., chose the Hogs over offers from Missouri, Tulsa, Baylor and Illinois. He’s also drawing interest from Arizona, Nebraska and others. He orally committed to the Razorbacks while attending the Red-White game April 24.
“I’ve never been off campus,” said Beck, who reports a 335-pound bench press and 420 squat. “We went to mall and went down Dickson street which was kind of pointless because it’s all bars. It was a little more crowded than I thought. I didn’t know that many people live in Fayetteville. I got into my first bumper-to-bumper traffic jam.”
Beck, who recorded 96 tackles and 6 sacks last year, enjoyed Fayetteville’s hospitality.
“It was a real nice town and the people were real friendly,” said Beck, who plans to graduate in Dec. and enroll at Arkansas in Jan. “We got lost once and had to ask someone at a stop light.”

Im glad to see he’s graduating in December. If we can get him, Brey, and Funderburk in December that’d be great momentum going into the last month before signing day.
One of the most impressive videos I’ve seen.
I wonder if it was him and his mom that I gave directions to on Duncan Ave. Someone pulled up in an SUV and asked me how to get to Dickson Street.
he’s so nimble and powerful..great looking prospect.
I wonder who is telling him that Fayetteville is a small town with nothing to do? Sounds like somebody is trying to turn him.
Where did you get that opinion? It doesn’t say that in the article.
no it just sounds like he is a small town kid if he thinks Fayetteville has lots of people
It was funny to me that he said having all bars on Dixon st was “pointless.”
Many other recruits would have the opposite opinion
He didn’t say having bars down Dickson St. was pointless. He said it was pointless for him and his mom to drive down Dickson because it was all bars.
“We went to mall and went down Dickson street which was kind of pointless because it’s all bars.”
your argument is pointless
Peyton,
MRPRFCT corrected you in how you mis-read what Beck actually said. You might as well admit it because there’s nothing complicated about it.
It’s not an argument.
I think what Austin was communicating is that he is not old enough to legally enter a bar.
Austin is a beast! Glad he is a Razorback and hope he stays one!!!!
Great looking prospect.
Petrino’s NIKE polo is nice!!! I gotta get a red one!!
Is BP a Short and Small dude or is BECK Just really huge. thats a lot of FB player
He is a flat beast! How do you even throw a pass with good aim if this guy has his arms in the air? I love how he drops back into LB, really gives those offenses differnt looks. Great recruit!
I LOVE the very last sack! This young man looks like the real deal!
I hope he qualifies.
