One of the nation’s top prospects, offensive tackle Brey Cook, 6-7, 314, 5.2 of Springdale Har-Ber will announce his college decision on July 6.

Cook wants to wait until the athletic dead period ( 6-20 to 7-3) is over so his coaches can be there for his announcement.

  8. GonzoHog GonzoHog says:

Nothing is concrete of course, but I think Brey will be a Hog.
If so, this would create a very good situation for the Hogs in recruiting.
Our next camp is scheduled for July 17, with a lot of bigtime talent coming to campus.
If Brey commits to the Hogs on July 6th, a lot of those guys are going to take notice before they make that visit to the hill.

It will all be worth it if he chooses the Hogs.

Yes I think that Brey will commit to the Razorbacks. He has been an avid Hog fan for most of his life. We will all welcome him with open arms. He may turn out to be one of the best Hog linemen in quite a few years.

After losing Frazier to Auburn (at least for now), getting a commitment from Cook would be a soothing balm. With Smothers and other talented O-linemen already committed, this would be a great addition to the class.

Are we still on to some other O-linemen after Cook, or would a commitment from him pretty much wrap up our o-line for this class?

  16. MRPRFCT MRPRFCT says:

Yes SAHF, there’s a couple of lineman from Arizona and California that we’re interested in. Big-time players.

If this kid goes somewhere else other than to the U of A, Petrino needs to call a staff meeting and bash a few offensive coaches heads. Standout prep stars in the shadow of Tuscaloosa don’t go anywhere else but Bama. The same holds true for those that light up the highlight reels around Gainsville FL, Athens GA and Knoxville TN. Any excuse given to why this shouldn’t be the norm around Northwest Arkansas is unacceptable.

  25. ua87, Oklahoma offered Brey first.

  26. fliphog fliphog says:

We are going to end up over signing this year because there will be too many great player to pass on.

  27. or because we are offering too many sub par players.

    ua87

What would you like the coaches to have done they didn’t do. I think we get him, but they have done everything possible to get him. I don’t believe not offering first would be enough for him to not commit to the Hogs

  29. RazorRandy RazorRandy says:

peyton should be hired as the recruiting coordinator. Obviously MUCH smarter than our Coaches. I’m thinking with a few months under his belt at that position, he’d be an obvious replacement for Jeff Long as AD.

  30. fliphog fliphog says:

Peyton why don’t you go ahead and list the subpar players you are talking about and give us the individual scouting reports you have gathered on them in film study. That way we can breakdown on your list who is worthy of actually garnering D-1 attention and who we should ignore

  31. RazorRandy RazorRandy says:

Brey, Life can end up full of regrets. If you follow your heart you will be fine.

  33. Galahawg Galahawg says:

Brey – you can’t go wrong with Coach Petrino & Coach Klenakis and their pro-style system.

  34. Bigfoot Bigfoot says:

Sounds like he plans to be a Razorback. I certainly hope so. This will make the class 11 recruits, plus a walk on. This class is coming together very nicely.

With respect to RiG, Life IS full of regrets. The biggest ones are when we choose not to put our all into something. This could be our marriage, our church, our job, our hobbies, etc. But part of the satisfactions of life is overcoming these disappointments. A NC with the Hogs would certainly prevent a bunch of these disappointments.

I was watching some of the Open yesterday. They had an interview with Ben Hogan where as a man in his 70′s or 80′s he lamented his disappointment about a certain shot that he didn’t hit with his all. Hogan was the best ball striker to ever play progolf. He had the best work ethic for practice, too. A day that you don’t practice is a day that you don’t improve. If he had won that championship, we would never have heard about that shot.

  35. I have to admit that this waiting on Cook to decide is wearisome and somewhat agravating to me. Either you are or you are not a Razorback.
When I knew that I wanted to marry my wife…I didn’t have to take six months to decide if I loved her or not.

I was just making a point about how the recruiting sites don’t give much love to recruits that sign with the Hogs early. Of course Brey won’t be rating a 2*, it was just a joke….PLEASE lighten up a bit!

  37. Captain Reality Captain Reality says:

This is the #1 recruit in the State per Otis Kirk, before Frazier picked the flats. I really hope he picks the Hogs. But, if he picks another school don’t begin to attack his ability, his character, or his intelligence. He has to live with his decision, not us fans.

As for bashing coaches: Georgia has lost three playes from Clarke Central HS who went on to play in the NFL. Some kids list as their goal an opportunity to get away from home and add to the growth experience. Drew Breese went to HS in the shadows of UT and went to Purdue.

  38. Tylerdg Tylerdg says:

Razorback Roger, Brey has his reasons for waiting and we should respect that. I don’t see anything wrong with him wanting his coaches to be able to be there for the announcement.

Is this comment about Hankins? I rarely get to listened to that show. He may have decided against Miami because of their depth chart. The canes are always loaded at LB.

  52. MRPRFCT MRPRFCT says:

Hey guys, even Alabama signed some guys they beat Southern Miss, UAB, etc for. Florida signed a 2 star QB. As long as most of this class isn’t poor we will be fine.

  53. MRPRFCT MRPRFCT says:

Yea, I was referring to Hankins.

  54. GonzoHog GonzoHog says:

Why go to Norman and play in the “not so stable” Little 10, when you can just move a few miles from home, play for your favorite school, and play in the “most stable”/best league in the country?

I guees it seems like a no-brainer to all of us, but there’s lots of things to consider when choosing a school.
Brey will make the right choice for himself, whether we like it or not.
That’s what he should do, but I’d be suprised if he didn’t pick the Hogs.

  55. Big Boi Big Boi says:

GonzoHog, I believe Cobb was offered in March. He is a big time player since the 9th grade Cobbs has been rumored to be the next “special” Warren WR. I’m surprised WR Shaq Jones Northside hasn`t been talked about much. Haven’t seen him play but he is supposed to be a D-1 player as well.

  56. GonzoHog GonzoHog says:

    MRPRFCT,

I wouldn’t look too much into Florida getting a 2 star QB. They’ve already got a commit from the #1 pro-style QB in the country according to Rivals.

  57. MRPRFCT MRPRFCT says:

I was referring to last years’ class.

  58. MRPRFCT MRPRFCT says:

My point was even big-time programs sign a 2 star here and there, that they sometimes beat a Southern Miss or UAB for players. As long as that’s not the majority of your class then you should be ok.

  65. Big Boi Big Boi says:

I think DeMarcus Ware played WR in high school. A lot of the guys that become high draft picks from non-power schools go through position changes in college. TE-OL WR-DE/LB RB-CB/S

  66. oldhog oldhog says:

My point is that D. Ware went to Auburn, AL high and was recruited by Troy. He played both ways in high school. He was very good in college and has turned out to be a very good NFL player. Just because a coach is at a small school doesn’t mean he can’t evaluate talent.

  67. lol i knew you guys would flip your chit. just goes to show that theres two sides to every coin and you lot are extremely predictable.

  72. J Shep J Shep says:

    Any news on Anthony Wallace???

  73. The fact of the matter is that the overwhelming majority of the top recruits we have offered are narrowing down their lists and Arkansas is not making the cut, or they are committing to other schools. This is very quickly turning into a recruiting year that looks the same as last year.

That’s one reason we need Cook to commit so badly.

  74. Blake Blake says:

Wow its getting nasty round here…

Hankins committed to Arizona… didn’t see that one coming..

  75. PorkU2 PorkU2 says:

Brey was born to be a Hog… I sure hope that is the way it turns out, but that is a decision for Brey and his family, and we need to respect that decision if it is not the Hogs. Though I won’t like it!!!!! GO HOGS

“The fact of the matter is that the overwhelming majority of the top recruits we have offered are narrowing down their lists and Arkansas is not making the cut, or they are committing to other schools. This is very quickly turning into a recruiting year that looks the same as last year.”

Just for fun, please name these “majority of the top recruits” would ya? Because we have offered many many top recruits…. there is actually a reason why schools do that… it is called smart recruiting… But go ahead and name all these top recruits that we have lost out on months before signing day….

  78. hogatexan, just do a little research.

i actually could name the top recruits we’ve offered, but there isn’t room here. its easier to list the few that we still do have a shot with.

Arkansas offered 55 Rivals 4 stars. At this point, we have a legitimate shot with about 6 of those, here they are:

    OL Brey Cook
    TE Chris Barnett
    ATH/RB Rodney Coe
    OL Kiaro Holts
    WR Kasen Williams
    DT Devonte Brown

    and who knows?:
    DT Kevin McReynolds
    RB Daniel Lasco

  79. MRPRFCT MRPRFCT says:

He names Chris Barnett, but not his best friend Anthony Wallace. Funny. More proof. Take your own advice and “do some research”.

  80. Anthony Wallace is probably going to pick Oklahoma or Texas

  81. btw Mr P, still waiting for you to add something productive to a conversation for once.

  82. i forgot one guy that was on my list — OL Gregory Robinson, i doubt he’s coming to Arkansas, but at least he is talking about us, along with Auburn, LSU, USC, and Oklahoma.

  83. MRPRFCT MRPRFCT says:

And you’re saying we do not have a legitimate shot at Wallace, but we do have a legitimate shot at Barnett? His best friend? You do know they said they’d love to play for the same college, right? Admit you just forgot about Wallace. Admit you didn’t “do a little research”. Don’t be prideful. We know you failed to mention him because you forgot about him. We are use to it.

  84. MRPRFCT MRPRFCT says:

    You being wrong that is.

  85. J Shep J Shep says:

what about Quinta Funderburk,Andre Yruretagoyena,Gregory Robinson & Nick Waisome are they not interested anymore?

  86. i did do research on Wallace, stop being a prick with every post you write.

Wallace has had less things to say about Arkansas than Barnett has. I would say Barnett is more likely to play for Arkansas than Wallace, yes. Which means Wallace is probably trying to convince Barnett to go somewhere else.

  87. Arkansas did not make Nick Waisome’s latest cut.

Gregory Robinson as I said, we still appear to have a shot at.

Andre Yruretagoyena will most likely be deciding between Oregon and Michigan.

Quinta Funderburk is supposedly still wide open, but there is no news i could find to indicate that Arkansas is high on his list.

  88. MRPRFCT MRPRFCT says:

You should go to the Shawn and Wally site and listen to the interviews.

  89. Arkiebarkie Arkiebarkie says:

It was reported on Bo Mattingly Show that Brey Cook will visit
Zero U before he announces his school. Stoops will get a shot
at him. But it won’t help the Sooners. Go hogs!

  90. thanks for the reference of the Shawn and Wally interview though. I would listen to those more if they asked more relevant questions that fans want to know about, ie – does Arkansas have as good of a chance as anyone else?

there is obviously a lot of kids to keep track of, which is why Richard Davenport does this job full time.

but even fans like me can do a little research and come up with a pretty comprehensive list of 4 star kids that Arkansas still has a good chance with. That number at this point is somewhere in the 7-10 range. if we get one-third of those to commit, we will be doing pretty good.

  91. SOUTHARKHOGFAN SOUTHARKHOGFAN says:

I have been out of the loop for awhile, does anyone think that the Hogs have a legitimate chance at a top 15 class or close? I know losing Frazier for the time at least hurt our chances, although something tells me that we are not completely out of the picture with Frazier. A lot can happen between now and the first Wednesday in Febuary…

  92. WPSGHG WPSGHG says:

    arkiebarkie,

Sounds like he might do what Frazier did with CBP staff before choosing Auburn…..go to the head coach and thank him for the recruiting and the opportunity, but inform him he plans to play Brey-zorback football. (maybe this is just what I wish will happen)

  93. J Shep J Shep says:

Thanks Peyton boy thats to bad about Waisome.

  94. Ron in Germany Ron in Germany says:

If we have a chance at a top 15 class we will need to sign Brey Cook and a few more good players. Highly rated 3* that have the potential to become 4*.

I think Frazier will remain committed to Auburn as long as Malzahn is there. Let us not overlook the posibility that if Malzahn leaves he might take some recruits with him.

Being ranked in the top 10 probably wont happen. We arent looking for the kind of players that are “Flashy” enough. QB’s, RB’s

  95. Ron in Germany Ron in Germany says:

I would be happy with a top 20 class if we meet all our needs. However, even being ranked whatever number we were last year (32 … 47 depending on who you talk to) We didnt even get the #1 target (Calvin Barnett) on campus so our ranking will take a big hit there.

  96. a top 20 class would be great. i think a top 15 class is just too far out of reach at this point.

  97. KArcher KArcher says:

    We don’t need Frazier!!!

  98. KArcher KArcher says:

We seem to be doing pretty good with a pro style QB now. Just sayin. I think CBP can develop any type . Dual threat would be nice, but not neccessary.

  99. Blake Blake says:

We are also in on some really good DL across the country like MCreynolds..

  100. hog fan in florida hog fan in florida says:

I am ready to give all this recruiting a rest after Cook commits. It is time to start thinking about the team have now and those coming in this fall. For me it is any way. All this speculation makes enemies of all of us Razorback fans. Like I said before, Opinions are like noses, everybody has one. So if Peytonhillis or MrPrft has a different opinion than me on a prospect that is fine. If a prospect chooses another college, fine, he is a forgotten entity.

  102. oldhog,
lol thats because i dont think we have a shot with malcolm brown. would love to hear from anyone that thinks we do what their reasons are for thinking that.

  103. Also, add 4-star DB Charles Jackson to my list. Richard said on Hog Trail that Arkansas is in his top 4 along with Florida, Texas, and Oklahoma. He would be a huge pick up, along the lines of Brey Cook importance.

  104. fliphog fliphog says:

IMO with a bcs type year, we would certainly get the attention of top players. There will be some go another way but we may also be able to pick up on some top players after the season. In recruiting, how you finish can change everything.

  105. Big Boi Big Boi says:

The only way the Hawgs can get top 10 classes, is if the state puts out a couple of 4-5* players a year(and we get them all) and we start to really clean up the Fort Worth/Dallas area.

  106. yeah, just wish Arkansas could figure out how Auburn does what they do in recruiting, considering Auburn isn’t winning national championships recently, last time i checked.

i can see our 4 star targets committing to Texas, Oklahoma, etc….but Auburn? come on man.

  107. jugga jugga says:

Auburn Alabama is a great (not good) college town. Think Fayetteville before “The Wal”. They have the most loyal alumni in the SEC, their kids drink the AU Koolaid. Their facilities are now first rate and the Auburn Supper Club is an every year top college bar in America. Once a kid spends a weekend on the “Flats” AU has a shot. This is not Starkville….

  109. oklahoma has 9! four stars committed already.

  110. GonzoHog GonzoHog says:

    PHFTW,

Get over it. They are an established program already, just like Texas. They’re going to get their’s.
Those 2 programs are the big roosters, with 8 little chickadies following close behind.
Take a good look at those other 8 team recruiting sites. There’s a very good chance you’ll find these teams don’t get fed very well, because those 2 big roosters are eating up all the feed down there on that hallowed feeding ground. (The state of Texas)

Arkansas hasn’t matured into a big rooster just yet, but you can bet your last dollar neither one of those big cocks take him for granted any more when they see him now.

    THAT’S FUNNY!

  113. GonzoHog GonzoHog says:

Personally, even though I do like seeing multiple star ratings, I don’t believe it means everything, especially with CBP.
Look at the highly rated recruits Texas gets every single year. If those stars really mean’t that much, they would have won at least 5 out of the last 10 NCs.
There’s a reason those guys have a reputation for doing less with more. It’s because they’re almost never as good as the hype they’re trying to live up to.
They should’ve never even played for a NC last year. Everyone knows a defensive minded Nebraska team got skrewed in the Big 12 Championship last season.

  114. FBJunkie FBJunkie says:

    Ditto with LSU.

  115. MRPRFCT MRPRFCT says:

What?!?! Texas had Alabama on the ropes. Had McCoy not gotten hurt, Texas would have rolled Alabama.

  116. GonzoHog GonzoHog says:

Holy crude MRPRFCT. Saying Texas would have won had McCoy not gone down, is like saying Nick Saban doesn’t know how to make defensive adjustments.
Funny how you seem to know exactly what would’ve happened after only seeing McCoy play 2 series as QB.
The only reason Texas was in it for as long as they were was because ‘Bama prepared for McCoy, not the pass-happy Freshman.
They also used some “smoke and mirrors”, gadget plays you seem to believe doesn’t work in the SEC.
In the end, it all fell apart for Texas, just like it did for everyone else that played Alabama last season.

  117. GonzoHog GonzoHog says:

Texas almost got rolled by A&M last season too. We know that team don’t we?

  118. MRPRFCT MRPRFCT says:

As I recall, McCoy was hurt on the 5th play of their first drive and boy were they driving. Let’s give them 7 points because bama had no answer until McCoy got hurt and texas went stupid with their playcalling. Alabama went for a fake punt and failed. Texas scored a FG but probably would have scored a TD with MCCoy. Texas would have been up 14-0 before Nick Satan could rip his headset off.

  119. MRPRFCT MRPRFCT says:

After McCoy was hurt Texas went predictable with run on 1st down, run on 2nd down, pass on 3rd and long. Texas couldn’t move the ball. Texas had a bunch of 3 and outs because of that which wore their defense down. Finally, Texas opened up the offense and Texas moved the ball. Unfortunately, it was too late.

  120. GonzoHog GonzoHog says:

I know you rooted for Texas to win, MRPRFCT. My only question is why?
You obviously don’t root for SEC teams, which by far makes much more since than rooting for a Big 12…ahem…Big 10 team, that just happens to represent the furtile recruiting ground we were talking about not long ago.

    (1) In your own words, rooting for a team doesn’t help them win, so why do it?

(2)If your going to root for a team to win, why not the SEC squad representing your league?

If Texas wins the NC against an SEC team, they and OU become even more popular for many of Arkansas’s own recruiting targets in Texas, but for some reason, you don’t see this.
If those same kids see the SEC dominating every year, being the best of the best, year in and year out, that makes playing in the SEC more attractive, right?
That means Arkansas becomes more attractive. Those kids would get to play in the SEC and remain close to home, right?
This is just one of the reasons Arkansas won’t go to that league. Texas and OU dominates it for the elite players, and we would be giving up the 1 edge we finally have on those guys.

  121. MRPRFCT MRPRFCT says:

    I didn’t root for Texas.

  122. MRPRFCT MRPRFCT says:

GonzoHog, I can think of 2 Texas athlete we beat Texas for. Thank God for HDNs win in the 2000 Cotton Bowl and Ronnie Wingo’s friendship with Cobi Hamilton. If Alabama wins titles they will get the best of the best players. We play alabama every year.

  123. MRPRFCT MRPRFCT says:

I don’t care about how good a conference is. USC is in the Pac-10. That’s like the 3rd or 4th best conference and they didn’t have a problem getting recruits.

  124. MRPRFCT MRPRFCT says:

AND as long as Alabama keeps winning titles and getting the best recruits we will never play for a title. I for one would like to play for a title. How about you?

  125. GonzoHog GonzoHog says:

That’s because those elite California recruits live in USC’s own back yard, just like the Texas and Florida recruits dp for those teams.
Your arguing against yourself now, MRPRFCT. You make a statement in one post on another thread about how adding A&M to the SEC would be bad for Arkansas recruiting Texas, because of the edge we have playing in the SEC, but at the same time you don’t care how good a league is?
Sometimes you right on target MRPRFCT. Other times, I just don’t get you man.

  126. MRPRFCT MRPRFCT says:

The edge in recruiting is we play in the SEC, but if we were in another conference and winning 11-14 games a year I’d be happier.

  127. MRPRFCT MRPRFCT says:

Do you agree as long as Alabama keeps winning national titles, we won’t win titles?

  128. MRPRFCT MRPRFCT says:

If Texas wins then at least we have a shot at playing for a title. As long as bama and Florida keep winning say hi to the cotton bowl, the liberty bowl, etc. every year.

  129. RKV RKV says:

Mack Brown is said to be one of the best recruiters in the country but he’s not. He doesn’t have to recruit the best talent in the country lines up at his door and he picks what he wants. Even with this advantage he doesn’t do a good job, example- he starts 2 frosh safeties in 08/09 and it costs them the TT game – McCoy gets hurt in the NC game and they have to bring in a Frosh. A good recruiter would have better depth than that. He is also not a great coach, with all the talent available to him he has only won 1 NC and that was when he admitted they quit trying to coach Vince Young and let him use his natural ability. He decided this after watching Matt Jones rip them a new one.

  130. RKV RKV says:

If we are scared to compete against AL and FL we don’t deserve to play for a NC. I would rather beat the best teams in the country and win a NC than to get lucky and only have to beat 1 good team.

  131. MRPRFCT MRPRFCT says:

No one said anyone was scared. The point being is that as long as Alabama keeps winning national titles, then we won’t. So why pull for them to win more? Conference loyalty?

  132. hatman7663 hatman7663 says:

“yeah, just wish Arkansas could figure out how Auburn does what they do in recruiting, considering Auburn isn’t winning national championships recently, last time i checked.” – By PeytonHillisFTW on Jun 21, 2010 @ 10:30pm

I’ve been trying to figure that one out myself. How does a coaching staff convince a young man (KF) to attend a school that is just darn near in another time zone? Especially when that young man grows up practically worshipping his home town school, a school where his family could more easily see him play and where he would most definitely be a success under the tuteledge of one of the FINEST groomers of collegiate QB’s out there?

I am extremely curious to learn what inducements were used to lure him away.

    Stinks, don’t it?

  133. Big Boi Big Boi says:

Gus is the reason hatman7663. He’ll play in the same system as he does now and like it or not GM is a hero to a lot of Arkansas high school coaches.

  134. RKV RKV says:

If someone else wins the NC we won’t nobody can argue that however I think our chances of beating AL are better in an early conf. game than they would be in the NC game.

  135. hatman7663 hatman7663 says:

i considered that Big Boi, really i did. but surely these kids realize that in this day and age coaches come and go, and whether i (or anybody else) likes him or not – Gus is a coach on the rise.

my opinion only, but i think Gus has 2 years tops at aubum before he is offered and accepts either a head coaching position at a mid major, or OC position at a higher profile school.

will his recruits be willing to follow him? coaches come and go – programs endure.

  136. Big Boi Big Boi says:

hatman7663 the same can be said about CBP. His name will come up at every job vacancie. Not to mention our OC Garrick McGee will be a hot name if we keep winning and he keeps recruiting the way he has been. CBP doesn’t have the ties in-state that a Gus Malzahn has (not yet at least Tim Horton does what he can) I wish these kids would all be Hawgs. but with a coach/recruiter like GM at a school in the SEC with some tradition It’ll be a fight for every kid.

  137. hatman7663 hatman7663 says:

you are absolutely correct Big Boi, CBP & staff will undoubtedly be mentioned for some vacancies – but that wasn’t really my point.

my love for the University of Arkansas would not have allowed me to forsake it as my choice if i were in KF’s position, and it’s difficult for me to comprehend how anyone could. (actually, difficult is a major understatement)

i wish the young man nothing but good luck, except when he go up against my beloved HOGS. ‘ol gus must be one helluva fella.

  138. HOGen-Dazs HOGen-Dazs says:

Man…lots of positive energy. Well time for that to stop. Ole Negative Dazs here boys.

As with the other boys that were offered by the Hogs but chose Auburn over Arkansas I will once again say this….

I wish him no harm. But I do wish that he is the second worst player to ever step foot on the Auburn campus right behind Dyer. I hope he sits pine throughout his career and if he does get to play I hope he sets the NCAA record for worst passing efficiency in history along with most picks.

Basically I want Arkansas to be glad that they weren’t stuck with this kid due to the fact that he sucked throughout his whole career.

Again…wish no harm upon him or anyone else. I’m sure he’s a great kid and hope he prospers in life without football. Hope he sucks on the field!!

    Man that’s much better…SHEW positive energy…SHEW!!

  139. HOGen-Dazs HOGen-Dazs says:

That is unless he turns his back on the Malzahn train and comes back to the Hogs. Then it’s open arms and heart sandwiches for him…LOL :)

  140. lmao. Gonzo is shadow boxing again. no ones saying that Oklahoma and Texas arent the big dogs around here, after all those two programs is where most of our top targets are ending up.

and what about this one? it was a legitimate question

I can appreciate the level of passion and enthusiam expressed by some on this board for Petrino and staff. A high level of expectation is OK and desirable. However I do not see how some people on this board can talk about a National Championship when we have not won anything yet.
We have not won the West, we have not won the SEC, We have not even beaten Ole Miss and HDN. Are we setting ourselves up for a dissappointment?

  144. belpa zhog belpa zhog says:

Let win one first. Let’s at least beat Ole Piss and HDN.

  145. Razorhog Razorhog says:

I agree. We were lucky and basically stole the game against East Carolina from Conference USA last year. I hope we do well but I would not be surprised if we lose 4 games and go to another lower-tier bowl game.

  146. RKV RKV says:

I don’t see anything wrong with wishing for the stars as long as you understand the odds, its free. I play the lottery even though I know my chances of winning are slim to none, at least I’m in the game. Every year is a new team and none of them have done anything yet, no matter what they did in the past.

  147. belpa zhog belpa zhog says:

I agree. I don’t see anything wrong wishing for the stars. I still like to meet a LA Clippers fan who thinks every start of the season that his Clippers is going to win the NBA Championship when in fact they don’t even make the playoff every year. It is free OK but I am also free to think he is a fool for thinking so.

  148. GonzoHog GonzoHog says:

Listen guys, we are going to be good, but expecting 10 wins or more is a little out of pocket IMO.
The only thing I expect is for the offense to explode, the defense to continue improving and becoming more consistant, and for the STs to help them by improving the field position compared to last season.
If those 3 things happen, (and I’m very hopeful they will) We could win anywhere from 8 to 11 games. There are just no garantees in the SEC, for ANYONE.
What finally gives us a leg up on the competition is a competent and motivated coaching staff. That alone should excite all Razorback fans.
