Kansas Coach Turner Gill liked what he saw of Springdale Har-Ber linebacker Hunter Kissinger during the Jayhawks’ football camp on Sunday.
“He said he liked the way I ran,” Kissinger said. “The whole point of the camp was to see how I ran. He said he liked what he saw. The linebacker coach and coach (J.B.) Grimes said he liked the way I ran. I ran smooth and didn’t look like I was straining.”
Kissinger, 6-3, 215, 4.58 is drawing interest from Arkansas, Kansas, Tulsa, Oklahoma State, Auburn He recorded 85 tackles, 4 sacks, 9 quarterback hurries, 2 recovered fumbles, including one for a touchdown as a junior.
Kissinger was matched up against the top tight end prospect in Kansas and held his own during passing drills.
“He caught a couple of passes on me and I batted a few out of his hands,” said Kissinger, who reports a 290-pound bench press, 400 squat, 305 power clean and a 33-inch vertical. “So I feel like I did well there. Obviously he’s great player and I’m trying to make myself a great player. I think we competed well against one another. I feel like I made him better and he made be better.”
He also attended the last day of Arkansas’ football camp last week.
“Coach (Bobby) Petrino said he wanted to get me back to the camp on July 17,” Kissinger said. “I’ll be out-of-town for a 7-on-7 tournament in Nashville. Coach K has been emailing me and telling me to keep working hard and keep getting better.”

Dang, it seems Har-ber is always doing a team event when we have a camp.
If I was a LB and wanted to go to Ark I would skip a 7-on-7 and go to camp.
Hunter may be a late bloomer… His senior season could change everything for him… Seems he’s putting in the work.

Could be he is a team first kind of guy.
I agree with Big Boi. He needs to impress the Arkansas staff period.
He came to our first camp. Thats good enough to do an evauation, along with the Highlight videos.
Ron in Germany, Very true Ron but he didn’t earn an offer after the camp. I hope he starts getting some offers. I just think he would’ve had a better shot at an offer if he made both camps.
Big Boi, Have they sent out the offers from the last camp yet? I was under the impression they had not, but it would happen soon.
I believe he was at the first camp for the last day and that was all.
He was at Tulsa’s camp instead of ours and only showed up for a couple of hours while they were wrapping up.
Tulsa’s camp was a team camp.
There have been 6 offers made since camp that I am aware of.
Ron…Who are the 6 offers since camp?
I really need to know where I can listen to the Hog football games this season. Those not televised. Can I get them on the same link that we get Shawn and Wally? Richard D. help me out here.

if Kansas liked him so much, they would have extended an offer
Its funny how the marginal guys not attending camp don’t end up with offers. Maybe they already know something but we know the coaching staff is close mouthed and wouldn’t do anything to hurt them as far as recruiting goes. If Arkansas is interested and still looking then other programs are gonna look also. He will get a free education either way. Wish him the best but to say a team camp or 7 on 7 is more important than your future is like admitting your not interested or don’t think your gonna get an offer. His team can do without him and give the practice time to a younger player. and he can learn alot at the camps he can take back to the team and help the younger ones progress.
