Game TIme
Hogs lead 2-1 heading to top of 2nd. Eibner just homered with Cox on 1st!
Great! What’s the latest?
2-2 bottom of 3rd….. Correction, Kuhn just got a round tripper…..so, 3-2 Hogs, nobody out, bottom of 3rd.
Guys thanks for the updates. At work and can’t listen too it. Thanks alot!
Bigham hit one to the warning track, but it was caught for the first out. Cox now batting, gets a base hit up the middle which makes his 91st bas hit of the season, but Cox strained his back on that at bat and is being looked at by the trainers.
Cox stays in the game, so I guess its not too bad. Eibner now batting with 1 on, 1 out. He strikes out swinging. 2 down. Wilkins now battings, grounds out to 1st to end the inning, but the Hogs take the lead 3-2 heading to the top of the 4th.
Baxendale in to pitch for Forrest
First batter grounds out to third. Next batter grounds out to first. And the next batter grounds out to 1st as well. 1,2,3 inning for Baxendale and the Hogs come to bat in the bottom of the 4th still leading 3-2.
USC east now switching pitchers.
Kreder up first, grounded out to 2nd. Sample up next and he flies out to center. Carver now batting and he popped out to 2nd to end the inning. sc coming to bat in top of 5th.
First batter flied out to center. Eibner made an impressive catch. Next batter flied out to left. Next batter struck out swinging and another 1,2,3 inning for Baxendale. Hogs coming to bat in bottom of 5th still leading 3-2
Its way to quiet in here, I feel like i’m “talking” to myself…..
Thanks ThaHill, Sorry I havent been here much lately
I am here because it isn’t so late today. It is 9:23pm here
Where is Mutt and Jeff?
Better known as WPSGHG and OKOFCOURSE
McCann leads off this inning and he struck out swinging. Kuhn now batting and he grounds out to the pitcher. Bigham now batting. Bigham gets a 2 out double on a hit to right center that went to the wall. Cox now coming up to bat, so sc decided to change pitchers.
I haven’t seen either of them today, so I thought I’d try to fill in for them until they get here, if they get here.
Cox now batting and he grounds out to short. That ends the inning and sc is coming to bat in the top of the 6th.
thanks man, thanks for your posts as well. Where are you from?
I’m from Searcy
Just got in from Fayetteville with the wifely. Got to watch both Friday and Saturdays games. USC has some impressive pitching. Throw that in with our slumping bats and it wasn’t pretty. Ballpark is beautiful though. First games I’ve been to since the latest improvements there.
*wife
Lead of batter for sc doubles down the right field line. Next batter grounds out to 2nd, but runner advances to 3rd. So there’s 1 out with a runner at 3rd. sc sends in a pinch hitter, and Van Horn is out to talk to Baxendale, and it looks like he’s going to pull Bax for Davenport.

How did that post twice?! I only typed it once…… weird.
Davenport takes the mound and gets the strike out on the first batter he faces. That’s two down with a runner still at 3rd. And now there’s a weather advisory so I’m not sure what is going on right now.
2 for 1 I guess
Next batter lined out to center, and we got out of that inning with no damage done. Now coming to bat in the bottom of the 6th still leading 3-2
whew !
Hanging by a thread !
Eibner up first and he struck out looking. Wilkins now up and he has a full count, the pay off pitch is fouled, then fouled again, and now another weather advisory. This is getting annoying.
Wilkins walked and now they change pitchers again.
Kreder now batting, and he grounds out to third, but Wilkins takes 2nd. Sample now batting and he grounds out to second to end the inning. gamecocks coming to bat in the top of 7th.
Lets go boys !
Lets win one with some defense for a change.
First batter for sc strikes out swinging and another weather advisory……talking about half-dollar size hail. That could do some damage.
Next batter goes down swinging as well. Keep it up Davenport. Davenport looking for the perfect inning, and got it, struck out the next batter with three pitches. Hogs coming to bat in bottom of 7th still leading 3-2.
Think they may call.this one after this half inning?
I spent a summer in Searcy when I got out of the Army back in the early 80′s. Lots of cruzin’ race street
Weather is fine in Fayetteville, it’s central Ark that is getting all the weather advisories. They are taking over my radio station every 5 mins or so.
it is hailing in Fayetteville?
oh, ok
They actually outlawed cruisin on Race back in like 99 or somewhere in there. Kind of stupid, if you get caught going the same direction 3 times within 1 hour they will give you a ticket. Well, that’s what the law is. I’ve never actually heard of anyone getting a ticket for it.
10-4 on weather
I helped build the first wal-mart DC there in searcy
LOL
how old are ya ThaHill?
I’m 52
I’m 27
That first wal-mart dc here is now a sam’s distribution, and they built a bigger dc for wal-mart (I don’t know how long ago, but its been there for a WHILE) and I actually worked at the newer one for a while. Sucks in the summertime, with there being now air, at all. There were several days I’d go to work in the summer and it’d be over 105 inside the building. Fun times.
Carver up first and he reaches on an error by the first baseman. McCann lays down a SAC bunt, and is out at first, but Carver is at second. Kuhn lined out to right field. Bigham now batting and he flies out to center to end the inning. Now heading to the top of the 8th.
Pratt now pitching for Davenport
Cox comes out of the game and is replaced by Reynolds. Cox would have been first to bat in the bottom of this inning, so I guess he tweaked his back a little worse than originally thought. First batter walks on 4 pitches. That’s the first walk given by the Hogs today.
Next batter looking to bunt, changes his mind after getting to a full count, and takes one out of the ball park. SC now leading 4-3. That sucks.
Pratt’s not looking to hot. Next batter beats out the throw for an infield hit to short.
Now he falls behind the next batter 3-0.
I wish they would have called it after 7
Game over.
Next pitch is a strike over the corner. Next one fouled down the right field line. Could use a double play ball right here.
And he flied out to center for the first out of the inning. Could still use that double play.
Mike, if you already know the final score then please dont say anything yet.
That hr took the wind out of my sail
There it was…….Kuhn made and impress catch on a fly ball and doubled up the runner at first. So we got out of it without any further damage and we are coming to bat trailing 4-3.
common defense ! ! ! !
The game is still on, just now going to the bottom of the 8th.
impress = impressive
Hey Randy, any chance you can take over for me? I need to mow before it starts raining here. I figure I have about 20 mins.
Heads up on our favorite recruit.
Update: That didn’t take long. Ten days after our last update (see below), Kiehl Frazier told Phillip Marshall of ESPN affiliate AuburnUndercover.com that his five favorites are Auburn, Arkansas, Miami, UCLA and Notre Dame, but he allowed that he has a second five that are still very much in the running. Frazier also expanded on his relationship with Gus Malzahn, which sounds like it might be tough to beat. Malzahn coached at Frazier’s high school, Shiloh Christian, before moving on to Springdale High. In fact, Shiloh still runs Malzahn’s offense. “He’s recruited me since ninth grade,” Frazier said. “We’ve built a long relationship over that period.”
I hate Auburn. I hope we smash them this year!
There you are Randy
Reynolds got to first, although I don’t know how (another weather advisory), and Eibner struck out. They are now switching pitchers….again….
“He’s recruited me since ninth grade,” Frazier said. “We’ve built a long relationship over that period.”
This sounds like a direct quote from Dyer last year.
If we dont get Frazier it wont be the end out the world. Just the edge of it.
Reynolds singled up the middle
Hey guys, sorry. Watching it on another screen and clicking back and forth.
Wilkins now batting and he strikes out. And now they are switching pitcher again. I think this will be the 6th or 7th pitcher of the night for sc.
I don’t buy that Ron. I’m not sure Frazier is a better QB than Allen.
Reynolds caught trying to steal 2nd and that ends the 8th.
Hi MRP, How are ya? Did someone rob you or something?
I said game over because Pratt is pitching.
Well. He is pretty good but I was refering to Auburn raiding Arkansas talent.
It would still be better either way with Frazier here than another SEC school.
Almost for sure Frazier goes to Auburn. It makes it all the more fun to beat Auburn.
Auburn is bringing in a lot of talent. Beating them will get harder than in the past. I do believe Ole Miss will fall on their face this year. Thats the pattern anyway.
it seams our pitching and defense have started to falter as of late. I hope Van Horn will fix those problem areas soon.
Heatley in to pitch for Pratt.
First batter flies out to center. Next batter walks on 4 pitches. That the second walk of the day for the Hogs, and we are switching pitchers again. Fuqua is coming in for Heatley.
does anyone here have the new windows 7 on their computer?
I need some help
Just got a double play by striking out the batter and throwing out the runner trying to steal at 2nd. That ends the top of the 9th and the Hogs have 3 outs to come back and get the win.
What’s your question, Ron? I don’t have windows 7, but I may be able to help you anyway.
HEY GUYS, GETTING ONLINE LATE. WHAT IS THE SCORE AND THE INNING ???
THANKS
the “D” did their part. Now we need some “O”
5-3 Gamecocks and it is our last at bat
4-3 usc bottom of 9th
4-3 gamecocks, in the bottom of the 9th
Bottom of the 9th
sorry, 5-3
Did not see where they got 5th run?
DANG, THAT IS WHAT I GET FOR NOT BEING ONLINE MUCH THIS WEEKEND PULLING FOR THE HOGS !
GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO HOGS GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO !
Morales homered in the top of the 9th to make it 5-3
Kreder leads off and flies out to center. Vinson up next and he strikes out looking. We are down to out last out. Come on Hogs!
it’s ok
Kreder flied out to right, not center. Sorry. I had company for a few mins and couldn’t keep up.
There was a weather advisory, again, and I missed it, but I show that Carver flied out to center to end the game.
this streak sucks !
where does this leave us in the big schem of things?
Thanks ThaHill for the updates and chat !
Get em next time boys !
That sucks, not only was this the first time USC east took a series from us at Baum, but they got the sweep too. I actually thought we had that game.
Van Horn shouldn’t have taken out Davenport. He struck out the side the inning before being replaced by Pratt.
No problem.
I agree, I think he is trying to save him so he can use him again sooner. Didn’t work well tonight though.
I dont think we are gonna get a super regional in Fayetteville
We need OKOFCOURSE to come back…. He disappeared Friday night after the third ( I think we were tied 1-1 at the time) and we haven’t done all that great since. Maybe he’s our good look charm. Where you at OKO?
Good night. It’s 11:10pm here.
He emailed me on Saturday to ask me to come to his website for the game yesterday but I couldnt make it. Maybe he is angry.
I was on his web page yesterday, but didn’t see a game blog up, maybe I just missed it.
Oh well, we’ll talk to ya later. Night Ron
I’m ok, Ron. Yea, we were robbed a few weeks ago.
We didn’t have a super regional here last year. That worked out well. It’s all about getting hot at the right time in baseball. Even if we continue stumbling to the finish, it can all change pretty quickly.
I say Auburn is going to win the SEC west. That’s just my prediction. They’ve been hitting HRs like crazy in every game.
Our pitching is below average at best and the 1st half of the season tricked us into believing we had great hitting, but the second half we went up against real pitchers. We have simply been exposed for the team we are. 25th type team. No better than that.
Almost carbon copy of how we struggled to end the regular season last year. Hopefully they’ll win out from here on and Auburn will not. USC pitching was ridiculous.
What a sucky month for the diamond hogs.
Yeah, I must agree…
This was my first series of games to take in at Baum stadium. It was beautiful, and a perfect baseball environment… But man, three losses in a row just takes it out of you as a fan… Hopefully they will turn this thing around.
I think this team realizes what they’re capable of and so does Dave VanHorn. After last season, we should too.
I can remember last year when we couldn’t handle Alabama, Ole Miss or Vandi late in the season. Those guys really put it on us.
We gave LSU some good games, but couldn’t quite get over the hump.
By the time we headed to Norman in late May for the Super Regional against Washington St. and OU, we had already seen one of the toughest schedules in college baseball. We all know what happened next.
So relax, VanHorn is one of the best college coaches going into the post season.
Keep the faith Hog fans. We’ll be ok.
I did get to meet Mike Nail on Friday night though!!!
