Offensive lineman Cam Feldt, 6-5, 290, 5.3 had a dream season by going 15-0 and winning the state class 2A championship for Pilot Point but his season ended a half too soon. He broke an ankle in the championship game after getting blocked from behind.

While limited in what he could do, Feldt did his best to stay in shape.

“When I was in a cast I just did upper body like crazy,” said Feldt, who signed with Arkansas in February. ”Then when I got out of the cast and was in a boot the doctor said I could ride a stationary bike so I rode that forever.”

Shortly after signing with the Hogs, Feldt, who graded out at 94 percent and had 104 pancakes blocks for the season, received his workout booklet from Arkansas.

“Monday is bench press followed by a bunch of other upper body auxiliary lifts and then there’s agility work,” said Feldt, who bench presses 340-pounds, squats 550and has a 28-inch vertical. “There’s not a whole lot of real conditioning yet. That’s the next part of the book. On Tuesday’s, it squats with lower body auxiliary lifts and more agility work. Wednesday is a day off. Thursday is incline and upper body auxiliary work and Friday is power clean and lower body auxiliary and agility work.”

Feldt arrived in Fayetteville on Thursday with father, Blake, who is the head coach of Pilot Point and will be a guest speaker at the Arkansas’ coaches’ clinic that ends on Friday.

Official visits not only educate recruits on schools but also gives the athletes an opportunity to get acquainted with other prospects. Feldt and 11 other recruits made their official visits to Arkansas January 15-17.

“It seems like as soon as we were there that we had that camaraderie,” said Feldt, who stays in contact with tight end/ defensive end Brad Hefley and offensive lineman Luke Charpentier. “It seemed like we all knew each other and we were all real good friends afterwards.”

Feldt’s younger brother, Boone, 6-3, 270, 5.0 is a top sophomore offensive line prospect for the 2012 class.

“He hasn’t told me he’s coming to Arkansas,” Feldt said. “The way he talks about Arkansas with me and to other people I think he really likes it. I think we’re going to get him.”

Feldt admits his brother may have him in the athletic department but he’s not ready to concede who’s the best.

“It hurts with me being the older brother but natural athleticism and natural talent,” said Feldt, who is ranked the no. 24 offensive tackle in the nation by Tom Lemming of CBS College Sports.  “I think Boone is much better than I am. If he’s going to play college football he’s going to be a center because of how athletic he is. He may be a better athlete but I’m a better lineman. I got him there.”

His brother also likes to talk to his opponents.

“Boone is more of a talker than I am when he pancakes people,” Feldt said. “There are a few plays on his highlight film where he’ll knock someone out and he’ll stand over them and he can see that he’s jawing to them. It’s pretty funny.”

Feldt, who plans to report to Arkansas on June 1, looks forward to seeing his brother at Arkansas’ summer camps.

“I’m definitely going to come down and watch him and may be heckle him a little bit.” Feldt said. “He has a couple of friends coming and I’m going to mess with them too.”

Love to see Cam & Boone line up together as HOGS. Several outstanding players on Pilot Points team. Any idea who else is coming up with Boone to UA summer camp?

I believe they have a stud LB in the 2011 or 2012 class. I thought he was coming up for the clinic with the Feldts. Maybe RD can help us out here.

just saw on ESPN that the Cowboys released S Ken Hamlin..wonder where he’ll end up. He definitely did not have a very good season this year.

  4. PK PK says:

    how would bout that…

6’5″ 290lbs with a 28 inch vertical. I see why BP says that Cam has the potential to be a stud LT.

Boone Feldt (2012) is coming with 3 other 2012 players
