Bobby Petrino and his staff have already extended scholarship offers to seven Arkansas soon-to-be seniors.
In the last week, the staff offered three in state.
“It is always going to change,” Petrino said on signing day. “I think [the 2011] class is a very good class coming up from the state. We are going to make that a major emphasis to recruit the state of Arkansas, no question about that.”
Bentonville offensive lineman Marcus Danenhauer (6-5, 295, 5.5) was the first to get an offer – one that came on National Signing Day for the 2010 class. He said he is excited about the offer, but he did not grow up a Razorback fan.
Today both Forrest City wide receiver Davyon McKinney (6-3, 180, 4.49) and Springdale offensive lineman Mitch Smothers (6-3, 290, 5.2) picked up offers to play at Arkansas.
McKinney said the Razorbacks have been his favorite team growing up but will look at other schools who are recruiting him before making the decision. One of those schools is national champion Alabama. Smothers said right now Arkansas is his favorite, as it is his only offer on the table.
The first of the seven in-state offers goes back to signing day 2009 with Fayetteville WR Demetrius Dean (6-3, 245, 4.7). Dean committed soon after. He was joined next by two quarterbacks: teammate Brandon Allen and Shiloh Christian’s Kiehl Frazier. Allen committed in January to the Razorbacks, while Frazier is looking at a multitude of schools.
Springdale Har-Ber offensive lineman Brey Cook had a couple of major offers including Oklahoma on hand when Arkansas offered him in October and he picked up offers from Miami and Alabama since then.
There are numerous other players Arkansas is taking a close look at in the in-state class of 2011.
who dat is holding up and hanging tuff at halftime……..However the WHO is breaking my heart..,.giving strong reasons as to why old me should stay retired……wow revolution isn’t bad, if I don’t get fooled again.
Speaking of The Who this year…remember The Rolling Stones at half time…EGADS !!!…it was horrible, they needed more than Geritol…I finally walked away until the second half. Like Firehouse…I am a Cowboys fan..so other than watching Peyton Manning I don’t really care.
Also, I and not a real Tony Romo fan…something about him reminds me of Danny White…not Roger Staubach…so maybe we can get a better quarterback for the Cowboys.
man i feel so good for the city of N O, I’ve been a fan for 40 years, never my favorite team, but one of the top 5 or so, though all those losing years and the bags, the owner dancing on the field man what a turn around…… the only team winning a Championship that could make me happier is the Hogs wining the BCS NC
Was that the shortest Super Bowl ever played timewise? It flew by. Can you imagine Bourbon Street tonight! It’s gonna make Mardi Gras look like a tea party!
After years of superbowl let downs, the recent games have been good to watch. Usually want underdog to win. Now we have to listen to all the ex jocks and coaches try to out cute each other. Congratulations Mike for predicting score. You can probably retire with all the money you made.
Oh, was their a football game today?
I spent most of my day helping finish a science project with my daughter. Didn’t see a lick of the game.
Ya know, you really don’t miss what you don’t see.
Hey Ron in Germany. I noticed you were a big Drew Brees fan.
Do you remember the 2000 draft? (I think it was anyway.) Mr. big shot Jerry Jones picked Quincy Carter (Georgia Bulldogs) to be the Cowboys new franchise QB.
I remember telling a friend before the draft that year that if Jerry didn’t take Drew Brees from Purdue, it would be one of the biggest mistakes he would ever make for the future of the Cowboy franchise.
I still stand by that statement.
Jerry Jones is a complete, egotistical idiot as an NFL owner. Any thoughts?
As far as the game went, there’s absolutely no way I could convince myself to root for Reggie Bush or Jeremy Shockey.
I love Drew Brees to death, but damn I hate both of those guys.
Great win for the Saints organization though. I really didn’t believe they’d pull it off.
TxHogFan – I agree. I have been a HOG football season ticket holder a long time. I am looking forward to that letter from the Razorback Foundation giving me a chance to buy tickets to the 2010 SEC Championship game.
Ron, saw your post to me on the earlier board. I’ve been here, just not saying much. Trying to be nice and not get involved in all the NON-RAZORBACK **** going on lately. I wish Richard would just kick that one guy off of here…AND I’m not talking about Mr. P! At least he tries to talk about the Razorbacks and is actually quite knowledgeable. You know who I’m talking about and he either has short man’s disease, is really an Auburn or LSU fan or is just down right pitiful! I would hate to know I had to go through life throwing **** around ALL the time just so I could feel like I am somebody! Anyway, I’m here. Thanks for coming back to Richard’s site and “manning up” like you said earlier today. You know, I think global climate change is having more of an impact than I orignally thought! The SAINTS win the Super Bowl, the HOGS are in first place in the West and the Washington Capitals have won 14 straight!

I think he missed on Brees twice. I think that Drew Brees and Drew Bledsoe were on the market at the same time. I think we know which team took the better Drew. By the way, Quincy Carter………..what was JJ thinking?
Hog Fan in SWLA —- Wish I could be down in New Orleans the next few weeks! Give us some updates on all the partying! Mardi Gras should really be something this year!!!
I am staying in Lake Charles for Mardi Gras this year but I believe New Orleans will be hopping come Fat Tuesday. I am getting too old for the Bourbon Street crowd.
Didn’t really care which team won, since the Cowboys weren’t in it. But I really was hoping the Colts would pull it off, because I am SO DAMN SICK AND TIRED of hearing that “whodat?!” bullcrap! Annuciate people! Stop being so damn lazy! You might be in the south, but holy crap, THAT’S lazy! Who is that?! Not too hard to say, is it?! I hate LSU fans so much that I really didn’t want them to have anything else to cheer about.
Oh well, at least it wasn’t boring.
As far as the Pro Bowl goes………..move it back to Hawaii the week after the Super Bowl Mr. Goodell!!!!!!!!! I didn’t even bother watching it this year!
Jerry Jones can’t be all that bad, considering he was once a Razorback.

I think his problem is that Frank Broyles taught him everything he knows. They seem to think a lot a like, (Lord help us) but amazingly, seem to manage money quite well. Remarkable.
I hear you. I live around and work with LSU fans. Most are courteous, knowledgeable, and will discuss the games intelligently. Unfortunately there are a few that are like fingernails on a chalkboard. If the Tigers win it was because they were the better team. If they lose it is because the opposing team had help from the officials.
Looks like Felix is going to end up being better than McFadden. I sure would like to see McFadden go somewhere that has an offensive line. Even then, it seems Felix wants it more than McFadden does. It will be sad if McFadden’s best days were in a Hog uniform He has so much potential.
Gonzo, you have to admit Broyles brought a lot to Arkansas. Most of the facilities all the recruits keep talking about are because of him. I didn’t agree with everything he did and it seems the media blames him for a lot of our problems over the years, but he did a lot of postive things as well.
The game was amazing. They need to go back to contemporary acts for halftime shows. Roger Daltry needed an oxygen mask up there. The Stones were awful. Paul McCartney was lame (“Thank you, Super Bowl!!”).
I have nothing but respect for JJ. I’m also proud that he’s one of us. I also think it’s awesome that a Razorback owns the Dallas Cowboys. That must really tick off Texas Longhorn/Dallas Cowboy fans. But hey, that can’t be too mad. He brought them 3 Super Bowls and built them into the biggest franchise in all of professional sports. Woo Pig
Gonzo Jerry Jones is the BEST owner NFL he is a Arkansan from Rose City North Little Rock! And a Razorback And I love the Dallas Cowboys! Hope they can play in the Super Bowl in 2011 they will be the home team! After the Hogs go 2-0 against A&M in SouthWest Classic in Jerrys World!!!
Hey TXHogFan59 I just went to a Wash Capitals game the other day people up here dont have anything to cheer for except the Caps and Hoyas… Cause the Redskins and Wizards suck!
RIchard, you would say Colts 31-29. And i would say you were wrong bro. WHO DAT. Saints had this coming for a long time. Manning can go back home and do his manning stuff now
Wow RazorRandy I give you props for speaking the “Truth”… About Hogfan100, He must have a very unhappy life! But I just ignore him and post about the Hogs.
I can look thoughout the above comments and see several different posters on here that’s been an ass here on this site on more than 1 occasion, including myself.
MRPRFCT, GonzoHog (me), Hawgfan100, RazorRandy, Rodney, PeytonHillisFTW, and even Ron in Germany had his fair share of bickering once up on a time.
How ’bout we just chill out for a damn minute and start showing Richard the respect he deserves for once.
It’s fine and dandy to RESPECTFULLY disagree with one another, but we’re ruining this blog with the attitudes!
I can appreciate your POV, Gonzo but you don’t seem to be getting all the cooperation you deserve. Tell you what: I’ll cool it starting now. And you see what you can do with the JV. Deal?
RazorRandy… I dont like Homo’s either! And I sure the hell dont wanna hear this crap on “The Recruiting Guy”! I know ppl on this blog dont have anything better to do is live on a “Computer” and Hide and talk Smack! But like Gonzo said we all have had arguments on here. Just try to focus on the Razorbacks…
Hogfan100… I am not on here to talk about what I like, or dislike! This is a “Arkansas Recruiting Website”! And it seems everytime I see your post you are ALWAYS Talking crap… Why not talk about ARKANSAS RECRUITING! Dont say things that you wouln’t say to someone Face to Face… Just be REAL!… If you know how…
I’m not too sure what all I’ve missed b/c I’m trying to read this on my blackberry, but I usually like to get in on things like this. Oh well, too late.
Go Randy Go!
Anyway, does anyone know where I can get tix to the Vandy game in a few weeks? I want lower level, but can’t seem to find any.
Rodney, I apologize for all the crap. Really no excuse for it, but this guy goes way out of his way to screw with people. Thinks he’s smarter than the next guy. He’s just an instigating ass in my opinion. I just finally had had enough.
I meant what I said, Richard might launch me over that exchange, but if he launches him as well and you guys don’t have to read his crap, then I will happily take one for the team.
Its allgood RazorRandy I allready had words with him… I have never seen him post about Arkansas Recruiting! All he does is comment about ppl on this blog… That is another sign of Homosexual signs about Hogfan100…. They say the internet is the way “They” chat with each other! Just letting him know I have a Girl and Love the Hogs! So leave me alone Hogfan100!
Don’t let someone else suck you in. Things were really good here for a few hours and it was refreshing. These comments will be gone soon I am sure. Life is too short. Just breathe.
Nice to see SAHF posting again. I know he is probably the biggest Saints fan here. Congrats to the city of New Orleans and all their fans of “Who Dat” nation.
Attention everyone when Hawgfan100 tries to start an argument just ignore him. He obviously never heard that it is better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to open your mouth and remove all doubt!

What a pathetic show by the Who. They aren’t even close on the lip sync. Really disapointing. Chris Daughtry was better.

GHG…WPS!!
I think its only upper level that’s left on the UA website & I’m not driving from Sheridan to sit in the nose bleeds lol
RazorRandy,
In case you do get launched, send me an email.

C’mon guys,
Don’t let someone else suck you in.
Go to the top and see who was the first on this blog to pick the Saints. Didn’t get the score, but I got the winner winner chicken dinner.
Razorpride89, what does the 89 stand for? Just curious.
Attention everyone when Hawgfan100 tries to start an argument just ignore him. He obviously never heard that it is better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to open your mouth and remove all doubt!
A Cajun who died went to hell.
