What’s with the slow first half starts? And, can’t we set a screen, even if we called for an illegal screen for goodness sake. Just man up body on body.
so what are things looking like? a typical sloppy first half?
This game is a must win. We can’t lose at home. We need to make it to postseason play. We need the crowd to be in it big-time. The recruits need all the positive vibes.

Last game I said I wouldn’t be worried unless we were down by more than 8 at half. This week I’m gonna say I’m not worried unless we are down by more than 13. Let’s hope for a great 2nd period.

We have got to rebound better.
Well, down by 2 at the half. Great considering how we played.
Auburn got away with at least three travels taking the ball to the basket.
so only down 2 after a typical bad first half for this team. lets blow Auburn out in this second half.
We played lazy the first 10 minutes…not moving our feet, not rebounding, no help defense. We picked it up a little towards the last half of the half.
And why didn’t welsh get the ball to Fortson at the end of the half with 15 seconds left. He took it all the way and then we were completely out of wack and turned it over. Welsh is at his best when he realizes that he’s not the best!
Honestly I think Cox played the best defense of anyone on the team in the first half. Did you see that guy try to back him down and Cox didn’t give an inch. He’s a very “heady”, underratted defensive guy.

Thank goodness for that. That last 30-40 seconds was just plain haphazard.

HOGS did look flat. I hope CJP opens up the same can he did in the GA locker room.
To tell the truth I wish we were down a little more. It seems to have been working to our advantage with the obvious exception of the KY game.
Britt looks just like Lee Mayberry in the face. Do you guys think so?

Washington and Powell needs to make Auburn’s bigs irrevent in the second half.

Britt does sort of remind me of Mayberry…especially when he’s hitting those floaters in the lane. He’s earning playing time, for sure!

These are the things that make me pull my hair out:
1. When Delvon Johnson subs for MW, there is no inside defensive presence. He just stands around. No intensity or aggresiveness. Looks lost.
2. S. Welsh looks great at times with his 3 pt. shooting, but then looks horrible with his ball handling and lazy passes. Terrible for a Sr. guard.
3. I know M. Powell is a True Freshman, but fouling outside the 3 pt. line has to stop.
4. C. Fortson still tries to force some plays that don’t even exist.
We had better come out with some defensive intensity and some real focus in the 2nd half.

I just had to swollow my heart cause I puked it up at the end of regulation! With LSU coming into BWA next Wednesday, and Miss St playing at home vs. Ole Miss, the Hogs have a chance to take a two game lead in the West.

I still see a lot of areas for improvement on this squad, but I’m becoming more and more impressed with our ability to finish games.
