Running back Casey Turner and his parents hosted Arkansas offensive coordinator Paul Petrino for an in-home visit Wednesday night.

Turner, 5-11, 190, 4.45 of Jacksonville’s Ed White rushed for 2,450 yards and 31 touchdowns this season. He gave a soft commitment to Florida International in October but is planning to make official visits to Rutgers and Arkansas before making a final decision.

Turner’s father, Darwin Turner said the visit was very productive.

“It was a real good meeting,” Turner said. “He went over everything. We look forward to coming down and checking out everything.”

The elder Turner and his son were supposed to visit Arkansas on Dec. 11-13 but have delayed the visit until the first of second week of January because Mr. Turner is in the process of moving and wanted to reschedule.

Florida State, North Carolina, Purdue, Central Florida, Michigan State and others are staying in contact and could enter the picture for Turner’s services.

Mr. Turner asked Petrino about playing time for the younger Turner should he become a Razorback.

“He said if he learns the plays, he said he’ll play,” Turner said. “He said if they feel like he’s not catching on then they’ll sit him out the first year.”

Turner and his coach, Terry Gilliam, will visit Rutgers this weekend.
