Remember the name Jessica Jackson, because college basketball coaches already know about her as a ninth grader.
Jackson, 6-2, of Jacksonville is positioning herself to be one of the more highly recruited female athletes Arkansas has seen in quite some time.
Texas A&M visited her school last Tuesday and shortly afterward told Coach Katrina Mimms of a scholarship offer.
“They had seen her in AAU ball,” Mimms said. “She had a really good summer. She’s 6-2, she’ll start for us at point guard. She can play inside or out.”
Mimms said he Jackson averaged about 20 points a game as an eighth grader.
Jackson, who’s scheduled to visit Arkansas later today, is also receiving interest from Oklahoma, Florida, Vanderbilt, Texas and others.
