For obvious reasons, receiver Cooper Beckett, 6-7, 190, 4.64 of Kansas City Rockhurst stood out during Arkansas’ senior camp.
‘I kind of relied on my height, my hands and my route running,” Beckett said of his camp performance. “I think I did a good job demonstrating all of those things.”
The camp was Beckett’s fifth of the summer. He previously attended camps at Missouri, Kansas, Northwestern and SMU.
“The coaches are really energetic and really cool,” said Beckett, who reports a 32-inch vertical. “There were more people than I thought there would be. Overall it was a very good camp. I liked how they use drills that use during their practices. It was structured like a practice. It was run pretty well.”
With only about 10 receptions for about 100 yards, Beckett is hoping to showcase his talent this fall.
“I didn’t get many looks because we had a senior quarterback and receiver,” Beckett said. “Pretty much every touchdown went to the one receiver but they have been playing since the fourth grade. This season will be telling if I’ll get recruited.”
Arkansas is one of several schools he hopes to see during the season.
“I like what they have going there,” Beckett said. “The stadium is real nice. I’m sure that place is really going on game day”
Also a standout on the basketball court, Beckett averaged about 11 points and 6 rebounds playing forward and center. He’s receiving interest from Wyoming, Northern Colorado, Air Force and others for his round ball talent.
