One of Louisiana’s top defensive tackles Damien Jacobs is hoping to make a visit to Arkansas in the next month or so.
“I haven’t scheduled one yet but that’s one of the things I would like to do this summer,” said Jacobs, who said he would like to also visit Florida State and Ole Miss. “It’s a good possibility.”
Jacobs, 6-4, 295, 5.2 of Houma (La.) H. L. Bourgeois has 10 scholarship offers including from Arkansas, Tulsa, Florida State, Nebraska, Ole Miss and others. He’s made visits to Tennessee, LSU and Auburn.
Jacobs, who said the Hogs offered him about three weeks ago, recorded 92 tackles, 8 sacks, 6 forced fumbles and 4 recovered fumbles during his junior season.
Defensive coordinator Willy Robinson and Jacobs have been communicating.
“He tells me what I need to improve on from watching my film,” said Jacobs, who reports a 300-pound bench press and 450 squat. “He seems like a real good coach.”
Academics, successful football program and a desirable city will factor in Jacob’s decision.
“I want to know I can fit in for the next four or five years.” he said.
While some athletes tire of the recruiting process, Jacobs said he’s trying to embrace it.
“I just want to enjoy every moment of it because it’s just one time thing,” Jacobs said. “I like going to the different schools and seeing the coaches and facilities.”
Jacobs said he’s uncertain when he’ll make a decision
