I made a trip over to North Little Rock high school on Wednesday to check out the Charging Wildcats and some of the team’s college prospects.
DE Bryan McCleary, 6-2, 230, 4.69
Other numbers: 4.43 pro-shuttle time, 32-inch vertical, 285-pound bench press, 420 squat, 275 power clean.
Schools showing interest: Memphis, Tulsa, Ole Miss and Southern Illinois (close to offering).
Coach Brad Bolding comments.
“He’s an outstanding football player,” Bolding said. “I truly believe he hasn’t tapped into to his total ability yet. When he does, he’ll be a whole lot better than he is now. When he does, he just dominates. Dominated last year when he did, it’s just a matter of being more consistent. He has all of the God-given ability to be a big-time player. He’s fast and he’s gotten stronger during the off-season.
Devonte Rich, 5-11, 175, 4.5
Other numbers: 4.01 pro-shuttle, 39-inch vertical. 250 bench press, 350 squat
Coach Brad Bolding comments.
“I was told by Tom Shaw at TCU (combine),” Bolding said “He coached like 33 or 34 first round draft picks while coaching at Florida State, He was shocked that Devonta hasn’t been offered. Matter of fact, his exact words was that ‘coach, he’s better than any receiver that the Miami Hurricanes have on their roster right now. I was shocked by that. He gave me the Florida State’s receiver coach phone number and I called him and sent film. He’s our go to guy. He’s going to get the ball in his hands a lot.”
Schools showing interest: Tulsa, Baylor, Missouri State, Arkansas State
DL De’Arius Hudson, 6-0, 350, 5.3
Other numbers: 4.65 pro-shuttle time, 30-inch vertical, 415-pound bench press, 550 squat, 650 dead lift, 315 power clean.
Coach Brad Bolding comments.
“The sky is the limit for him,” Hudson said. “He’s a guy that almost control B gap to B gap. He can definitely control A gap to A gap because he’s such a wide body and he’s so strong.”
Schools showing interest: Arkansas, Oklahoma State, Ole Miss, Alabama, Iowa State, Stanford, Harvard, Tulsa and others
S Colby Miller, 5-10, 190, 4.4
Other numbers: 4.01 pro-shuttle time, 36-inch vertical, 300 bench press, 405 squat, 295 power clean.
Coach Brad Bolding comments.
“He’s our best athlete in the school,” Bolding said. “A lot of people that have come in really like Colby because he’s unbelievably strong. He does such a good job covering because he can run so well.”
Schools showing interest: Ole Miss, Tulsa, Oklahoma State
