One of top OLs in nation changes mind

Arkansas was scheduled to get a visit from one of the nations’ top offensive lineman but that has changed. John Martinez (6-3, 290, 4.88) of Cottonwood High in Salt Lake City notified Arkansas earlier in the week that he wasn’t taking any other visits.

Louisiana player visiting UA in January

Athlete Kenny Cain (6-1, 200, 4.6) of John Curtis in River Ridge, La., is scheduled to make an official visit to Arkansas on Jan 23-25. Arkansas is recruiting him as a safety.

Pine Bluff Dollarway defensive lineman Bobby West (6′ 2 ½” 270, 4.78) is a 2010 prospect to keep an eye on. He possesses good strength, good speed and the ability college recruiters are looking for in a lineman.

UA hopes to hear from Mississippi kicker

The Arkansas coaches are hoping to hear good news from kicker Andrew Ritter of Jackson Academy in Mississippi in the near future. He made an official visit to Arkansas last weekend and has visits scheduled to Southern Miss on Jan. 9-11 and Ole Miss on Jan. 16-18.

2 recruits head to UA for visits

Arkansas will entertain two recruits on official visits this weekend. The Hogs hope to persaude defensive tackle Kyrhi Thornton (6-3, 300, 5.1) of Hargrave Military Academy and defensive back Andru Stewart (5-11, 190, 4.43) of College of the Sequoias in California to join the Razorbacks for next season.

As expected, offensive lineman Zhamal Thomas, 6-4, 325, 5.0 of Navarro College in Texas signed his national letter of intent early Wednesday morning to be a Razorback.

2011 QB gets offer

Sophmore quarterback Kiehl Frazier, 6-2, 197, 4.71 of Shiloh Christian was offered a scholarship by Tulsa earlier today. Frazier help lead the Saints to a 42-18 victory over Pine Bluff Dollarway in the class 4A state championship game on Saturday at War Memorial Stadium in Little Rock.
