Are the Hogs not recruiting Rogers? With his size & speed he would seem a natural for a big LB in college now or after some weight gain a DE for sure later.

  2. GonzoHog GonzoHog says:

Something tells me Rogers isn’t that interested in the UofA.
A lot of times, recruits have certain schools that just don’t interest them that much.
This guy is a little bit of a mystery, because the old Razorback coaching staff at Ole Miss don’t seem to be that appealing to him either.

Where did this information come from? Sunday he said he was going to wait it out with MSU

  4. Richard Davenport Richard Davenport says:

    The info is very solid.

  5. Ima Hawg Ima Hawg says:

Will Broderick Green enroll at UA in January? And does his scholarship count against 2009 recruiting class?

  6. Richard Davenport Richard Davenport says:

    Ima Hawg,

    Yes.

He will probably count toward the 2008 class.

  7. Corey Corey says:

It’s not that Rodgers isn’t interested in the U of A.. It’s that the U of A isn’t particularly interested in him.

He had his chances to commit early on, but Petrino and staff moved on when he waivered and decided to commit to MSU.

I’d much rather use his commitment toward Sheldon Richardson, LeRonn Furr and Darrington Sentimore.

In my opinion, Rodgers is more of a project, while Richardson, Furr or Sentimore can come in and play right away.

  8. Pigweed Pigweed says:

In the past, we have taken a lot of “projects”, some of whom have done well, some not so much. I like the idea of recruiting players who appear to be ready now. Let lesser programs take most of the projects. You don’t get a top 10 recruiting ranking by taking a bunch of projects, IMO.

  9. Corey Corey says:

    I agree with you Pigweed..

I feel that Houston Nutt and stuff believed that they could take any player and eventually turn them into studs, but that isn’t always the case.

However, one athlete that does come to mind is Jamaal Anderson. He was recruited as a wide receiver, but once on campus, they added weight to him and look where he is now.

BUT.. I am with you Pigweed, let’s get guys in here that can make immediate impacts. That’s what the Floridas, Alabamas and Texas’ are doing.

If we want to be elite, we’ve gotta recruit the elite.

Hey Richard it was good to see you again Saturday. I will share with you what some of the coaches shared with me. Coach Schmidt told me Daniel looked better than most of the other guys on agility drills. Coach Horton said Daniel had an outstanding camp and opened the eyes of the coaches he needed to open. Coach Caldwell stated to me personally that Daniel was beating the offensive guys on the 5 on 5 drill with sheer speed and quickness. What does this mean? I don’t know but I think his stock went up quite a bit with the Razorback coaches. At least it was very encouraging to Daniel and also made him realize how hard work eventually pays off. He looks forward to talking with you. Talk to you later, Larry.
