While Arkansas has three oral commitments from Oklahoma for the 2009 recruiting class, they’re also looking toward the future.
2010 cornerback Brenton Bogard (5-10, 165, 4.27) of Muskogee is one of the fastest junior prospects in the nation and has Arkansas’ attention.
Bogard reports a scholarship offer from Kansas State and interest from North Carolina, Alabama, Arkansas and Oklahoma State. He accompanied Razorback commitment Robert Thomas to Fayetteville for the Arkansas-Alabama game in September.
“I love it down there,” said Bogard, who’s visited Oklahoma State, Kansas State and Oklahoma. “It’s a place I can fit in but there are a couple of other places I think I could fit in but I’m not sure about my options right now. I love it, they’re one of my top schools. I liked the fans, I liked the stadium. I feel like its program that’s building and I feel like I can fit in.”
He mentioned Oklahoma State, Kansas State and North Carolina as the other schools he has the most interest in.
Bogard, who also plans to run track in college, said he’s been timed at 10.32 seconds in the 100 meters and also runs the 4×100 and 4 x 400 for the Roughriders track team.
Most schools are recruiting him as cornerback and kick returner, according to Bogard. He plans to attend one, possibly two more games.
“I’m going to try and make it down for the Arkansas-LSU game with Robert and probably another OSU game,” he said. “That’s probably it.”
Bogard plays some running back and receiver on offense.
