Cornerback/receiver Vincent Williams, 5-10, 175, 4.5 of Alpharetta, Ga., is one of many prospects that the Razorbacks coaches have their eye on in Georgia.
Williams received two scholarship offers from Ball State and Akron in July. He’s drawing interest from Arkansas, Auburn, Central Michigan, Clemson, Florida State and Western Michigan.
Williams said he’s definitely interested in the Hogs.
“I have a lot of interest,” Williams said. “It’s been my dream to play in the SEC. There’s a lot of competition and I thrive on competition. That would challenge me and I’m looking for a challenge.”
Alpharetta coach Bill Waters has coached for more than 25 years, producing such players as current San Diego quarterback Charlie Whitehurst and safety John Busing, who played for the Cincinnati Bengals last year. Waters thinks Williams is as good as anyone’s he’s coached.
“He’s a great football player, he’s got a great attitude, he’s a great student,” Waters said. “He works hard and plays both sides of the football. He plays wide receiver and cornerback. I’ve had some pretty good ones and he’s one of the best I’ve ever had. He’ll stick you.”
