Moss makes oral commitment

Austin Moss of Rockwall Texas has orally committed to Arkansas. More details in Friday’s Democrat-Gazette.

Update on Grandy

Pine Bluff Dollarway athlete Jesse Grandy said he missed the Arkansas football camp July 19 because he had to go out of town for a family illness. He said he told assistant coach Tim Horton why he was unable to attend the camp. Grandy said he has offers from Arkansas, Tulsa, Louisiana Tech, Louisiana-Monroe and Mississippi Valley.

Hawley has two offers

Rogers forward Aaron Hawley, 6-7, 195 has picked up an offer from Arkansas State to go along with the one from Yale. Others showing interest include UALR, Missouri State, Air Force, Navy, Wichita State and Bucknell. He averaged 16 points and five rebounds per game for Rogers last season.

Good news expected on Gary

Running back Albert Gray, 5-10, 177, 4.4 of Citra, (Fla.) is expected to be cleared by the NCAA Eligibility center and be able play in the fall. He rushed for over 1,100 yards in his junior season and rushed for 1,860 yards last year while being named the class 3A Player of the Year in Florida.

Arkansas recruit shows some serious wheels

Texarkana (Tx.) receiver Cobi Hamilton is showing off his speed at the AAU Junior Olympic games in Detroit, Michigan. He ran a 21.52 200 meters in the semi-finals on Thursday to qualify for the finals on Saturday. His time ranks 3rd going into the finals. Texan gets offer

Offensive tackle Travis Swanson, 6-6, 282, 5.2 of Kingwood (Tx.) said he received a scholarship offer from the Hogs on Tuesday.   Swanson attended the Arkansas football camp July 19 and showed well in front of the Arkansas coaches. In addition to Arkansas, he has offers from Arizona, Kansas, Houston and Army. He told me he expects to make a decision soon.

Shaffer decides

Former Hawaii and Shiloh Christian receiver Eric Shaffer has decided to enroll at Missouri State.
