The debate over an early signing period for college football probably isn’t a concern for Ohio State Coach Jim Tressel.

The Buckeyes received their 23rd oral commitment for the 2009 recruiting class on Tuesday when Jonathan Newsome, a defensive end from Cleveland’s Glenville High, committed.

Schools are allowed to sign more than the allotted 25 prospects to scholarships but can only enroll 25 prospects in a calendar year.
