When comes to college prospects, every year there are always a few sleepers in the state. North Little Rock running back Arondi Smith could be classified as one. He moved to North Little Rock in December from North Carolina. Smith, 5-10, 230, 4.7, played for Class 2A Cummings High School in Burlington the past two years.
Smith rushed for more than 1,500 yards and 26 touchdowns as a sophomore. He had around 700 yards last season before an ACL injury sidelined him after 5 games. Smith said his knee is about 75 percent recovered from surgery.
Smith said he’s been invited to Arkansas’ spring game April 26 and hopes to make one of the Razorback football camps this summer. He said he has no offers at this time but likes Tennessee, North Carolina State, LSU, Arkansas and Louisville. Smith said he was born in Tennessee and would consider the Volunteers his favorite.
