Youngblood doing well on the baseball diamond

Arkansas football signee Jim Youngblood has helped the Camden Fairview baseball team to a 14-3 record thus far. Youngblood is hitting for a .364 average with 3 home runs, 17 RBIs and 15 stolen bases. He’s been very effective on the pitching mound with a 5- 2 record, 1.14 ERA and 47 strikeouts in 30 innings.

Malzahn back in the state

Tulsa hosted several Arkansas high school prospects on unofficial visits last week. Lonoke athlete Clarence Harris, Lake Hamilton quarterback Phillip Butterfield, White Hall offensive lineman Nick Partridge and running back/cornerback J.J. Razorbacks still looking

Lady Razorbacks Coach Tom Collen and staff don’t anticipate signing anyone April 16, the first day of the spring signing period that runs through May 21. They plan to entertain two basketball prospects on official visits during Arkansas’ spring game April 26. The Lady Razorbacks have four scholarships available but will most likely sign three players.

New hoopsters planning arrivals

Arkansas’ basketball signees will arrive on campus at different times in the next few months.   Oklahoma combo-guard Rotnei Clarke, 6-1, 175, will graduate from Verdigris High School in Claremore on May 16 and begin classes at Arkansas the 19. Clarke plans to play in the Oklahoma – Texas All Star game June 7.

Rogers gets offer

Mississippi State assistant coach J.B. Grimes called North Little Rock Coach Brad Bolding on Wednesday morning and offered a scholarship to defensive end Anthony Rogers.
