Bentonville basketball this week

Bentonville's boys enter this week's action a solid second in the 7A-West Conference standings, and the Tigers can add some distance between them and the rest of the league with a pair of wins this week.

Bentonville (14-7, 6-2) welcomes Fort Smith Northside to Tiger Arena for what may be the final time as a conference member Tuesday night, then will make the short trip to Springdale Har-Ber for Friday's game.

Rogers Heritage/Rogers High this week

The War Eagles and Mounties both started the second half of 7A-West Conference play on the right foot on Friday with a big wins.

Heritage (11-10, 3-5 7A-West) avenged a round one home loss to Springdale High, while Rogers High (8-13, 2-6) held off Springdale Har-Ber.

The two crosstown rivals will square off Tuesday night in War Eagle Arena. Each team has a win to its credit this season. Heritage defeated Rogers 54-37 to take third in the Arvest Hoopfest in early December. Hot Springs had a pair of dunks - one by Trey Lennox and one by Paris Harris - in its 58-47 win over Magnolia Friday.



Cabot's Matt Stanley dunks in the Panthers' 69-63 overtime win over North Little Rock Friday.

4A-1 Conference Tournament Picture

The 4A-1 Conference heads into the final week of the regular season with still plenty to play for as far as next week's district tournament at Prairie Grove.

The games get no bigger than the one Tuesday night at Pea Ridge as the Blackhawks host Huntsville. Both teams have 10-2 records in league play and have already secured byes to the district tournament semifinals and a regional tournament berth, and the winner moves into sole possession of first place with a Friday game remaining.
